Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library, 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy, presents a variety of free children’s programs, adult computer classes, book clubs, and special programs for people of all ages each month. All programs are free and open to the public. FORT BEND COUNTY LIBRARY CARDS are free to all Texas residents. To apply for a library card, please visit any FBCL location during business hours. You MUST provide a valid photo ID that is not expired (government-issued photo ID, passports from any country, or any state driver license) and a document showing a current address if it is not shown on the photo ID.


FREE CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning at 10:15 am & 11:30 am
FAMILY STORY TIME
Takes place in the Meeting Room. Families with children of all ages will enjoy stories, songs, and action rhymes. Craft packets will be given out at the end of each program, so that children may take them home to enjoy. The schedule of Family Story Time activities is as follows:
 
March 22 and 23 – Spring
March 29 and 30 – Dance Party
 
1st & 3rd Tuesdays, 6 pm - 6:30 pm
PAJAMA NIGHT STORY TIME
An evening alternative for families unable to attend during the day. Program dates are March 7 and 21, and the themes will be “Dogs” and “Spring.”
 
Tuesdays, 10:15 am - 10:45 am
MOTHER GOOSE TIME
For pre-walking infants from age 1 month to 12 months. This activity provides caregiver/infant multisensory circle-time activities -- including simple sign language, folk songs and lullabies, and finger plays -- that are especially designed to stimulate babies’ social, emotional, and physical development through rhythm and music. Attendance is limited and registration is required.
 
2nd & 4th Thursdays, 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
CREATIVE CONNECTIONS
Activities for school-aged children in grades 4 through 8.
 
The schedule of activities is as follows:
  • March 23 – Strategy Board Games. This activity will take place in the Multi-purpose Room.
Monday, March 27th, 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm
FAMILY BUILD NIGHT
Takes place in the Meeting Room. Families with children of all ages will enjoy a fun-filled building challenge using LEGOs and other mixed materials during this free-play time.
 

ADULT PROGRAMS

CRAFT CLUB
Craft enthusiasts of all experience levels who enjoy any type of crafting are invited to attend to get other crafters’ perspectives, critiques, and suggestions. Chat and network with other crafters who enjoy anything from art and needlework to woodwork and much more! Those attending should bring their projects and their own crafting supplies. Crafters are invited to come and go as time permits.

LEARNING ENGLISH? GET PRACTICE AT LIBRARIES' ESL CONVERSATION CIRCLES
Are you learning to speak English? Would you like some practice in a casual, informal atmosphere? Fort Bend County Libraries presents a program for individuals of all nationalities who would like a place to practice their English language and conversation skills. The “ESL Conversation Circles” provide an opportunity for non-English-speaking people to gather in a relaxed setting, and discuss topics of their own choosing while practicing their English skills.
 
The ESL Conversation Circles will take place at multiple locations in the Fort Bend County library system in April. Reservations are NOT required. The schedule is as follows:
  • Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library – 8100 FM 359 South, Fulshear
    • Mondays, April 3 and 17, 12:00 noon-1:00 pm
  • Mission Bend Branch Library – 8421 Addicks Clodine Road
    • Wednesdays, April 5, 12, 19, and 26, 2:00-3:00 pm, Meeting Room.
  • Cinco Ranch Branch Library – 2620 Commercial Center Blvd, Katy
    • Fridays, April 14 and 21, 2:00-3:00 pm, Multi-purpose Room.
