Keep Your Home Safe: Fort Bend County's House Watch Service Offers Peace of Mind During Your Summer Vacation

June 05 2024

Planning a summer getaway? Ensure your home stays safe and secure with the House Watch service provided by Fort Bend County Constable Precinct 1. Whether you're off on a beach vacation or exploring new destinations, it's crucial to have someone keep an eye on your property while you're away.

Why is it important to have your house watched during your vacation? Statistics show that homes left unattended for extended periods are more vulnerable to burglary. According to recent data, residential burglaries increase during the summer months when many families are on vacation, making it an opportune time for intruders to target empty homes.

With the House Watch service, you can have peace of mind knowing that law enforcement officers will periodically check on your residence while you're enjoying your time away. Here's what you need to know about the service:

  • House watches are available for a maximum of fourteen consecutive days, ensuring your home remains monitored throughout your vacation.
  • Properties listed for sale, rent, or lease are excluded from the service.
  • No individuals will enter your residence during the house watch, maintaining your privacy and security.
  • While the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office cannot guarantee specific check-in times, every effort will be made to inspect your property as time and workload allow.

It's essential to note that during natural disasters such as hurricanes or floods, house watch services may be temporarily suspended to prioritize emergency response efforts.

To request a house watch for your residence, click here to submit your request to Fort Bend County Constable Precinct 1 before your departure date. If you do not hear from Precinct 1 after submitting your request online, call 281-341-4665. By taking proactive steps to protect your home while you're away, you can enjoy your vacation with added peace of mind.
