Keep Fulshear Beautiful's Annual Spring Trash Off Aims to Beautify and Unite the Community

April 25 2024

The City of Fulshear is gearing up for its annual spring trash clean-up - the Keep Fulshear Beautiful Trash Off event, scheduled for April 27th, 2024. This community affair, organized by Keep Fulshear Beautiful (KFB), will kick-start at Irene Stern Community Center at 9:00 a.m.

Keep Fulshear Beautiful, an initiative started in 2011, is a community-based, family-friendly volunteer organization focused on maintaining the city's aesthetics and cleanliness. Over the years, KFB has managed to garner increasing support from the community, making the city's beautification a unified collaborative effort. This project seeks to restore community vegetable gardens, pick up roadside litter, plant endemic plants in public spaces, and manage occasional special assignments.

KFB hosts bi-annual clean-up events, one in April and the other in November. The organization reaches out to scout troops, students seeking service hours, or anyone interested in actively participating in the preservation of the city's beauty.

The City of Fulshear, in collaboration with the non-profit organization, Forever Fulshear, proudly hosts the Keep Fulshear Beautiful initiative. The city is also a member of the 'Keep Texas Beautiful' campaign and takes part in the 'Don't Mess With Texas Trash Off.'

In the spirit of keeping Texas clean, volunteers will gather for a safety talk at the Irene Stern Community Center, located at 6920 Fulshear Katy Rd, Fulshear, TX 77441,  before commencing with the trash collection across the city. This year's event will also feature e-recycling facilities and a paper-shredding truck, in their effort to make recycling more accessible to the public.

For those interested in volunteering at the event or participating in Fulshear's beautification, contact Ramona Ridge at 713-703-4129 or fill out a volunteer form at fulsheartexas.gov/kfb.

Let's come together this spring to lend a hand in keeping Fulshear beautiful!
