Fast-Casual Mediterranean Restaurant CAVA Opens Second Katy Location
CAVA, the Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant chain, has announced the opening of a second location in Katy. After a delay due to safety precautions during Hurricane Beryl, the new restaurant, located at 1641 Greenhouse Road, Suite 400 next to Tim Hortons, is finally ready to serve its delicious, healthy, Mediterranean-inspired dishes to the local community, according to a press release issued by the brand.
Famed for its bowls, pitas, dips, and dressings, CAVA has built a diverse and passionate fan base through their commitment to quality food and excellent service. "Our mission is to bring heart, health, and humanity to food, and everything we do at CAVA is grounded in that spirit of generosity, to our guests, our team members, and our community,” said Scott Sheffield, the company's Regional Director.
In line with their pre-opening tradition, CAVA conducted their companywide Community Day program. This initiative included extending invitations to neighbors for a free meal, accepting and matching donations up to $1,000 for a local cause. For this instance, CAVA chose to raise funds for Second Servings, Houston's only perishable food rescue organization. The company’s dedication to improving food security has led to over $500,000 in donations since the program's inception in 2019.

Additionally, CAVA partnered with New Hope Youth Center to donate fresh meals prepared throughout the restaurant’s training period to local community members. This is part of the company's food donation program, which launched in fall 2023, aimed at reducing food waste and improving food insecurity.
The new Katy location is set to provide 30-35 jobs for locals, hiring individuals for their hospitality skills and creating potential career pathways with benefits including paid time off, healthcare, and free mental health support. Founded in 2010, CAVA now has nearly 340 locations across the United States, including the first Katy location in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.
