Commissioner Lesley Briones To Host Harris County Community Budget Meeting

August 10 2023

On Thursday, August 10, Commissioner Lesley Briones will host a community meeting for residents to learn about the Harris County budget and share their feedback.

For the Fiscal Year 2024 budget process, Harris County launched the Balancing Act tool to help breakdown the County’s $2.2 billion budget and simulate the decision points in developing a balanced budget that meets the needs of Harris County. Providing the public with opportunities to express their priorities for the County Budget is key to achieving transparent and accountable government and serving the residents of Harris County.

Residents can use this tool to provide feedback through August on their Harris County budget priorities, and the results will be considered along with other public comments. You can find Balancing Act along with one-page budget explainers and more here.

The meeting will be held at Bayland Community Center, located at 6400 Bissonnet Street, Houston, Texas 77074, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Speakers will include Commissioner Lesley Briones, Harris County Precinct 4, Daniel Ramos, Executive Director, Harris County Office of Management and Budget.
