Breckenridge Park MUD Update: More Deputy Coverage Starts October 1, Shredding Set for October 6
Breckenridge Park residents will enter October with expanded contracted law-enforcement coverage through Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 82, followed by an October 6 opportunity to shred personal documents and meet local emergency responders.
The district’s renewed agreement with the Harris County Constable’s Office, Precinct 4, increases contracted deputy coverage from 12 to 13 deputies for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2027.
What the Patrol Agreement Provides
Contracted deputies will devote 65% of their working time to law-enforcement services and patrols within the district’s service area. MUD 82 describes the expanded contract as part of its effort to strengthen neighborhood security and police visibility.
The contract count does not mean all 13 deputies will be on duty in the district at the same time. The district’s Fall 2026 resident newsletter provides the contract summary and other October service updates.
October 6: Shredding and National Night Out
MUD 82 and Best Trash will offer on-site document shredding Tuesday, October 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at North Spring Park, 2328 N. Spring Drive. District residents may bring up to five boxes of recyclable paper.
Bring paper loose inside a box, which will be returned to you. Plastic bags slow the inspection and disposal process. Staples and paper clips are acceptable; metal binders, binder clips, wet paper, hard drives, CDs, videotapes and film reels are not accepted.
The shred event takes place during the district’s National Night Out celebration, which runs 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the same park. The family event includes opportunities to meet deputies and fire-department personnel, see emergency vehicles, and enjoy free food, snow cones, a bounce house and giveaways. Shredding ends half an hour before the celebration.
Schedule Household Hazardous-Waste Pickup
Residents can also arrange household hazardous-waste collection through HHW Solutions, a Best Trash company. Accepted categories include certain cleaners, paint, pool chemicals, automotive fluids, rechargeable batteries and mercury-containing lamps, subject to the provider’s quantity and handling limits.
Visit HHW Solutions to check the next collection date for your address, confirm accepted materials and schedule service. Set approved materials out by 7 a.m. on the scheduled collection day. Keep products separated and in their original labeled containers when possible; do not mix chemicals.
For pickup questions, call 281-313-2378. For a broken trash or recycling container, contact Best Trash at support@besttrashtexas.com and provide the district name, address, container type and a description of the damage.
These notices apply to MUD 82 residents and its service area. The complete district newsletter includes collection limits, preparation instructions and local service contacts.
