Local Non-Profits Join Forces to Support Families Affected by Autism
When we work together for the common good, amazing things can happen. That's what Harmony Chapter No. 16, a chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, is aiming to do by hosting a gala benefitting Hope For Three, a local non-profit dedicated to supporting families living with an autism spectrum disorder. On April 28, Harmony Chapter No. 16 is going green for their inaugural gala, which will be held at the Buffalo Soldiers Museum in Downtown Houston.
Members of the Order of the Eastern Star are dedicated men and women who sincerely reflect the spirit of fraternal love and the desire to work together for good by giving their time to meaningful projects that benefit mankind, such as this fundraising initiative benefitting Hope For Three.
For many years, Harmony Chapter No. 16 has been a community partner with Hope For Three through volunteerism, supporting the families and children served by Hope For Three.
"The generous gift of being selected for their first gala is beyond thoughtful and kind and will change lives," said Darla Farmer, CEO and Founder of Hope For Three.
The recent announcement from the CDC that autism now affects 1 in 36 American children reflects the urgent need for an organization like Hope For Three.
Hope For Three is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and autism advocacy group based in Fort Bend County that provides resources and support to families living with an autism spectrum disorder. The organization also generates awareness through outreach, education, and events. Autism is the leading and fastest-growing developmental disability in the United States. Over 6,300 children diagnosed on the autism spectrum are enrolled in Fort Bend County public schools. Hope For Three is one of the only nonprofits in the Greater Houston area to focus solely on autism and no other disability and the only nonprofit in the Fort Bend County area to provide assistance on an ongoing, monthly basis.
