Cinco Ranch’s Chris Dudley Named Houston Texans Coach of the Week After Fourth Straight Victory
A routine morning film session turned into an unforgettable moment for the Cinco Ranch High School football team as Head Coach Chris Dudley was surprised with the Houston Texans’ prestigious Coach of the Week Award, following the Cougars’ thrilling fourth consecutive win.
Flanked by cameras, cheerleaders, Houston Texans representatives, and Katy ISD leadership, Dudley was presented with the award and a $2,500 donation check from the Houston Texans Foundation—funds that will directly benefit the Cinco Ranch football program.
“The kids are why we do this,” said Dudley. “To be able to receive this reward and highlight all the hard work and the sacrifices they’ve made for this season was amazing. Accepting the Texans Coach of the Week Award is a testament to our coaches, our administration and community members who support us every week, because they are such a critical part of our success.”

Katy ISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski and Executive Director of Athletics Lance Carter were on hand for the celebration, which continued on the practice field. There, Dudley was presented with a signed certificate from Houston Texans Head Coach DeMeco Ryans, capping off a week that saw the Cougars defeat Tompkins High School 35–28 in a game that cemented their place near the top of the District 19-6A standings.
“What he’s doing on the field and for this community stood out,” said Brett Stewart, Director of Football Development for the Houston Texans. “Coach Dudley is not only an awesome person, but he sets a great example of leadership for his football program and the school. It is something that we admire. So, we want to recognize him and highlight his program.”
Now 5-1, the Cougars have already surpassed last season’s win total and are riding a wave of momentum in one of the most competitive districts in the Greater Houston area. With each victory, the program continues to gain recognition—not just for performance, but for its positive culture and leadership.

The Texans’ Coach of the Week program, part of the NFL team’s broader commitment to high school athletics and community engagement, highlights one outstanding head coach each week from the Greater Houston area. The recognition honors those who demonstrate excellence in performance, sportsmanship, and community impact.
The donation accompanying the award may be directed toward either the Cinco Ranch football program or booster club, offering flexibility to best support student-athletes through equipment upgrades, training resources, or team enrichment activities.
As a weekly honoree, Coach Dudley is now in the running for the 2025 Houston Texans Coach of the Year Award, which will be announced at the end of the high school football season.
For the Cinco Ranch community, this moment is more than a midseason milestone—it’s a reminder of the hard work, passion, and unity that define the team’s spirit.
