La La Land Kind Cafe Coming to Katy: Community-Focused Coffee Shop Plans Spring Renovation on South Fry Road
A well-loved café known for blending bright flavors with a deeper sense of purpose is officially headed to Katy. La La Land Kind Cafe is planning a new location at 6825 S. Fry Road, Suite 100, Katy, TX 77494, marking another step in the brand’s continued growth across the Greater Houston area.
The new La La Land Cafe Katy will occupy 1,876 square feet in an existing retail space currently home to Main Squeeze Juice Co. The privately funded project, with an estimated investment of $245,000, is scheduled to begin renovations on March 31, 2026, with completion anticipated by June 30, 2026. The scope of work includes a full tenant finish, featuring a new kitchen, restroom, dining area, updated finishes, and new ceiling grid and tiles, while maintaining the existing leased footprint.
For Katy residents, this opening represents more than just another coffee option. Since its founding in Dallas in 2019, La La Land Kind Cafe has built a loyal following by pairing its whimsical, sunny-yellow café spaces with a mission centered on community impact. The brand already operates three popular Houston-area locations in Montrose, M-K-T on Shepherd Drive, and South Shepherd Drive, with another location coming to Towne Lake in Cypress.

La La Land Kind Cafe was created by founder Francois Reihani alongside the La La Land Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting foster youth aging out of care. Through paid internships, mentorship, housing assistance, and mental health resources, the café serves as both a workplace and a stepping stone toward long-term stability for young adults navigating life transitions.
“We set out to bring La La Land to life. A place where you walk in and feel a true sense of joy for life,” the brand states. “A place where kindness is priority.”
That philosophy extends into every detail of the café experience, from its bright interiors to its carefully crafted menu. Guests at the upcoming Katy location can expect many of the same favorites that have made La La Land a social media and community staple. Signature drinks like the Strawberry Fields latte, Lavender Bloom, and French Toast Latte sit alongside iced cloud creations such as the Banana Cloud Latte, Strawberry Cloud Latte, and Matcha Squared Latte. The café is also known for its refreshing coolers, including Mango Passionfruit and Strawberry, as well as its customizable Arnold Palmer options.

On the food side, La La Land’s visually striking toasts have become just as recognizable as its drinks. Menu highlights include Truffle Burrata Toast with white truffle oil and avocado mash, The Queen Avocado Toast with cream cheese and everything seasoning, and sweet options like the M.A.K.A. Toast topped with almond butter, bananas, strawberries, and honey drizzle.
With each new café, the La La Land Foundation continues expanding what it calls the “Kindness Effect,” a community-driven approach that blends employment, mentorship, and service. Through its Workforce Development Program, the organization works to create inclusive opportunities while fostering a culture of empathy and support.
