Halloween Spooktacular Bash Unites Harris County MUD 102 Neighborhoods in Festive Fun
Halloween across neighborhoods within Harris County MUD 102 was nothing short of magical this year, as families from The Colonies, Concord Bridge, and neighboring communities gathered for the Halloween Spooktacular Bash on Friday, October 24, 2025. The event, held at The Colonies Neighborhood Center, drew more than 500 residents for a night filled with festive celebration, family-friendly fun, and meaningful connection.
The event was proudly sponsored by Harris County Sheriff’s Office District IV, with special recognition given to Deputy Aviles, whose dedication and planning efforts helped turn this vision into a successful reality. From coordinating vendor support to helping organize activities, Aviles’ commitment to community engagement was on full display.
The atmosphere was electric with energy as kids dressed as superheroes, princesses, and pint-sized monsters took part in trunk-or-treating, a spooky Haunted House experience, and an exciting costume contest. Local vendors helped fuel the fun with free food, candy, and prizes, while a live DJ kept the crowd dancing well into the evening.

"My very first time being a vendor… I had super long lines… so much fun. Next year it will be even bigger,” said Mitzi Trevino of Mitzi’s Image, one of 22 generous vendors who participated. “Our neighborhoods and the Sheriff’s Department came together for some clean fun for our families. There was free food, drinks, games, music, costume contest and so many vendors that helped put this event together.”
In addition to the vibrant festivities, the event included interactive public safety activities such as fingerprinting stations for kids, allowing the Sheriff’s Office to foster connections with families in a lighthearted and informative way. HCSO deputies didn’t just supervise—they participated, dancing with children, mingling with residents, and cheering on costume contest participants.
Volunteers from across MUD 102—15 residents in total—also stepped up to make the night happen. From managing tents and tables to helping with setup and cleanup, their behind-the-scenes efforts were crucial to the smooth operation of the event.
The Spooktacular Bash not only created cherished Halloween memories but also underscored the power of collaboration between local law enforcement and the community. For many, it marked a moment of unity and joy in a year when neighbors are looking to reconnect.
Whether you call The Colonies, Concord Bridge, or another MUD 102 neighborhood home, this event was a shining example of what happens when community and caring collide.
