Celebrate History at the 200th Anniversary George Ranch Frontier Days in Richmond

On Saturday, November 16, the Richmond community will come alive with the vibrant sights and sounds of its historical heritage at the 200th Anniversary George Ranch Frontier Days. This cultural event features a captivating blend of battle reenactments, horse-drawn wagon rides, and hot air balloon demonstrations, among other activities. As the largest living history celebration at The George Ranch, this year's festivities promise enjoyable experiences for the entire family.Notable sponsors supporting the event include Johnson Development Corp, LJA Engineering, and the Scala Family.

The event is going to be a gateway to history, enabling visitors to experience the old traditions of cowboy roping and branding, chuckwagon cooking, and historic home tours. The day will also feature a cowboy fast draw contest, adding a spark of competition to the historic festivities.

"It’s a day filled with exciting family-friendly activities, including crafts, games, vendors, food trucks and more! It’s the perfect opportunity to experience all that The George Ranch and our many participating partners have to offer for a historic, fun-filled Saturday," says George Ranch Executive Director, Adrienne Barker.

Adding a modern twist to the historic event, this year’s Frontier Days will incorporate hot air balloon demonstrations. Holiday goers can look forward to witnessing a performance by Colorado-based Free Spirit Skies who will be demonstrating their balloon named “High Maintenance”. The owner and pilot, Kelli Cook, will share insights into the world of hot air ballooning.

Other attractions will comprise of cannon drills, carriage rides, cowboy shows, and a select group of vendors for holiday shoppers at the Frontier Market featuring Crafts by Astrid, Hanna Makers, Moonlight, Shave Baked Goods, Sweet Christine’s Brittle and Texas Rustic Bell. Food and beverage options will be available at The Chow Corral, where attendees can enjoy everything from tacos and quesadillas to turkey legs, ribs, and brisket, along with a variety of refreshing beverages.

The George Ranch will additionally host a Field Trip Friday on November 15th from 9 am to 2 pm, where schools are invited to experience the historical magic firsthand.

George Ranch Frontier Days will welcome the public from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday, November 16th at The George Ranch, located at 10215 FM 762 in Richmond. The tickets are priced at $21 for adults, $16 for children, and free for children under four.
