The Colonies Residents: Colonies Neighborhood Center Pool Shifts to Weekend-Only Hours After August 16
For families trying to squeeze in a few more summer swims after the school bell has started ringing again, there is still time to enjoy the Colonies Neighborhood Center pool during its regular schedule this week.
The pool will continue operating its normal hours through Sunday, August 16, 2026. After that date, the Colonies Neighborhood Center pool will move to a weekends-only schedule, a seasonal change that Colonies residents will want to keep in mind when making late-summer plans.
Colonies Neighborhood Center Pool Hours This Week
Through Sunday, August 16, the pool will continue following its normal operating schedule:
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday through Saturday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday: 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Beginning after August 16, regular public swimming will be available on weekends only, with the pool continuing to observe its usual weekend hours:
- Saturday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday: 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
For Colonies families, that means weekday trips to the neighborhood pool will no longer be part of the regular operating schedule once the weekend-only season begins.
Weekday Pool Parties Are Still Available
The change in public operating hours does not necessarily mean the pool is off limits during the week.
Residents can still inquire about swim parties during weekdays and other non-operating hours through Swim Houston Pool Mgt LLC. Families interested in reserving the pool for a birthday celebration, gathering or other private swim event can submit a pool party inquiry through the company’s online pool party request form at swimhoustonpools.com/poolpartyinquiry.
Availability, scheduling and other reservation details are handled through Swim Houston Pool Management LLC.
A Little More Summer Still Ahead in Colonies
The return to school often signals a shift in family schedules, but Houston-area warm weather tends to stick around well beyond the first day of class. Keeping the Colonies Neighborhood Center pool open on weekends gives residents another neighborhood recreation option as families settle into fall routines.
Residents planning a swim should make note of the August 16 schedule change, particularly those accustomed to visiting the pool during the week.
