An afternoon of designer handbags, bingo and giving back is on the calendar in San Antonio this December, and the real winners could be the teachers and students of Judson Independent School District.

The Judson ISD Education Foundation will host its Purse Brunch & Bingo fundraiser on Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Morgan's Wonderland, located at 5223 David Edwards Drive in San Antonio. The event combines eight rounds of bingo featuring designer handbag prizes with a brunch buffet, raffles, student performances and an open bar, all in support of Judson ISD classrooms.

For families throughout the Judson ISD community, including Live Oak, Converse, Universal City and surrounding northeast San Antonio neighborhoods, the fundraiser offers an opportunity to enjoy a morning out while supporting the educators and students who make up their local schools.

Designer Handbags, Bingo and Brunch for a Cause

The foundation is putting a fashionable spin on traditional bingo, giving attendees the chance to win designer purses while enjoying food, entertainment and time with friends.

Eight games of bingo will feature designer handbag prizes, with an additional luxury handbag bonus round adding another opportunity to win. Guests can also look forward to raffle drawings, a brunch buffet and an open bar.

Student performances are part of the festivities, bringing some of the young people who benefit from the foundation's work into the celebration.

The event is designed to bring together parents, educators, district supporters and San Antonio residents who want to contribute to local public education. Whether attendees come for the handbags, the bingo competition or simply an opportunity to spend time with friends, their ticket purchases will support the Judson ISD Education Foundation's mission.

The foundation has encouraged interested guests to purchase tickets soon, noting in its October 12 announcement that tickets were selling quickly.

What Is the Judson ISD Education Foundation?

Behind the designer purses and bingo cards is an organization dedicated to helping Judson ISD teachers and students.

The Judson ISD Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports educational opportunities within Judson Independent School District by bringing together community members, businesses and donors who believe in investing in public education.

Education foundations play an important role in school communities by helping generate financial support for educational initiatives beyond what traditional school budgets may provide. Their work can help educators pursue classroom projects, expand learning opportunities and provide additional resources that benefit students.

For Judson ISD, which serves families across several communities in the northeast San Antonio area, that support connects local generosity with the everyday work happening inside district schools.

Events such as Purse Brunch & Bingo give supporters a way to contribute while participating in something enjoyable. They also introduce the foundation's work to residents who may not have previously been involved with its fundraising efforts.

The foundation has confirmed that proceeds from ticket purchases support Judson ISD teachers and students, although a specific fundraising goal and the allocation of proceeds from this event have not been announced.

Morgan's Wonderland Will Host the December Fundraiser

This year's Purse Brunch & Bingo will take place at Morgan's Wonderland, a San Antonio destination known for its commitment to inclusion and accessibility.

Located on the city's northeast side, Morgan's Wonderland opened in 2010 as an ultra-accessible theme park designed to welcome people of all ages and abilities. Inspired by Morgan Hartman, the daughter of philanthropist Gordon Hartman, the park has become widely recognized for its inclusive approach to recreation.

The setting brings together two organizations with missions centered on creating opportunities for people in the community.

For guests traveling from Converse, Live Oak, Universal City or other areas served by Judson ISD, the venue provides a gathering place on San Antonio's northeast side for a fundraiser supporting local schools.

A Community Tradition of Supporting Local Schools

Fundraising events often bring together people who share a connection to their local schools, whether they are parents of current students, district employees, alumni or residents who simply want to help.

For the Judson ISD Education Foundation, Purse Brunch & Bingo provides another opportunity to strengthen those connections while raising money for education.

The impact of community support is not always immediately visible. It can take shape in classroom materials, educational programs and opportunities that help teachers reach students in new ways. While the foundation has not identified specific projects that will receive proceeds from this fundraiser, its broader mission is focused on supporting the people and learning experiences within Judson ISD.

As December approaches, residents interested in attending are encouraged to secure their tickets through the foundation's official registration page.
