Jersey Mike’s Planning New Converse Location Near Hightop Ridge
There may soon be another place to grab a sub along East Loop 1604.
Jersey Mike’s is planning a new Converse restaurant at 4211 E Loop 1604 N #102, Converse, TX 78109, bringing the popular sandwich chain closer to Hightop Ridge and the growing neighborhoods surrounding this stretch of northeast Bexar County.
The address is particularly interesting because Jersey Mike’s will not be the only restaurant name associated with the property. My Neighborhood News previously reported plans for a Wingstop at 4211 E. Loop 1604 North. The Jersey Mike’s plans identify Suite 102 specifically, offering a little more insight into the mix of businesses taking shape there.
For anyone already familiar with Jersey Mike’s, the menu should need little introduction. Cold subs are made with meats and cheeses sliced in the restaurant, while the hot side of the menu includes cheesesteaks and other grilled sandwiches. Ordering a sub “Mike’s Way” adds onions, lettuce, tomatoes, vinegar, oil and spices, a combination that has become closely associated with the brand.
That familiar menu has come a long way from the Jersey Shore. The business began as Mike’s Subs in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, in 1956, years before the modern Jersey Mike’s brand expanded across the country. What started as a neighborhood sandwich shop has since grown into a major national chain, while keeping made-to-order subs at the center of the business.
For Hightop Ridge residents, the new Jersey Mike’s could mean one more convenient option for lunch or dinner, especially for those who already travel along Loop 1604 for work, shopping or everyday errands.
There is not a grand-opening date to circle just yet. The project information provided for the restaurant lists construction through November 15, 2026, but construction completion and restaurant opening dates are not necessarily the same thing. Jersey Mike’s has not yet announced when the Converse location will begin serving customers.
