Insomnia Cookies Bringing Its Late-Night Sweet Tooth Favorite to South Austin with Third Location
Craving a warm cookie at midnight? South Austinites are about to get a sweet new reason to stay up late. Insomnia Cookies, the beloved late-night dessert shop known for delivering warm, gooey treats straight to your door, is opening its third Austin location this spring at 4341 S. Congress Ave.
According to permit filings, the new South Austin store is set for a quick build-out with renovations beginning March 20 and slated to wrap up by April 1, 2026. The 1,329-square-foot space will mark the chain’s latest expansion into the growing Austin dessert scene, adding to its current stores at 2323 San Antonio Street (near the UT campus) and 1401 E. 6th Street in East Austin.
Founded in a college dorm room in 2003 by University of Pennsylvania student Seth Berkowitz, Insomnia Cookies began as a mission to satisfy those late-night sweet cravings when traditional delivery options just weren’t cutting it. Fast forward to today, and the brand now has more than 200 locations nationwide—each one serving warm cookies and ice cream well into the night.
What’s on the Menu?
Insomnia Cookies is all about indulgence and customization. South Austin cookie lovers will soon be able to sink their teeth into a wide variety of classic and deluxe cookie flavors, including:
- Chocolate Chunk, Snickerdoodle, and Peanut Butter Chip
- Vegan and gluten-free options like Vegan Birthday Cake and Vegan Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip
- Over-the-top deluxe options such as S’mores Deluxe and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Deluxe
For those looking to take dessert to the next level, menu items include cookie-wiches (ice cream sandwiched between cookies), brownies, ice cream scoops, and the wildly popular “Ice Cream on a Brownie” for $9.29. Packs of cookies are also available for sharing (or not), with prices starting at $15.29 for a 6-pack and scaling up to a 100-cookie catering box for $225.00.

Cookie cakes, drink options like Fairlife milk and Oatly, and even a pint of their own ice cream round out a menu designed for anyone who needs a sugar fix at all hours.
Austin’s Growing Love for Insomnia Cookies
Austin has fully embraced Insomnia’s unique blend of warmth, whimsy, and convenience. From college students on Guadalupe Street to East Side creatives pulling all-nighters, the brand has built a loyal local following that is only expected to grow with the addition of this third location in South Congress.
Located in Travis County, this area of South Austin is known for its mix of trendy neighborhoods, food-forward culture, and thriving nightlife—making it a natural fit for Insomnia’s late-night concept.
Whether it’s for a late-night study session, a spontaneous celebration, or simply the joy of a warm cookie after dark, Insomnia Cookies continues to deliver—literally and figuratively.
A Sweet Future Ahead
With its third Austin store opening soon, Insomnia Cookies shows no signs of slowing down. As the company expands its footprint across Texas and beyond, it remains committed to the community it first began serving in dorm rooms over two decades ago.
For locals wondering if the new South Congress spot will offer delivery—yes, it will. And like all Insomnia locations, hours are expected to stretch late into the night, with some days offering service until 3 a.m.
Whether you’re a daydreamer or a night owl, soon you’ll be able to indulge your cookie cravings without having to leave South Austin.
