Derek Hough’s ‘Dance for the Holidays’ Tour Is Coming to the Austin Area This November
The Austin area will welcome a new kind of holiday celebration this fall when Emmy Award-winning dancer and choreographer Derek Hough brings his Dance for the Holidays tour to the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2026.
The Cedar Park performance is currently the tour’s only announced Texas stop, making it a regional draw for dance fans, families and longtime viewers of Dancing with the Stars across Central Texas. Set several weeks before Thanksgiving, the show will offer Austin-area residents an opportunity to step into the holiday season through live music, theatrical staging and the high-energy choreography that has become central to Hough’s career.
Tickets will go on sale to the public July 24, with VIP packages also available for fans seeking premium seating, pre-show parties and meet-and-greet opportunities.
A Holiday Dance Show Designed for the Whole Family
Derek Hough Dance for the Holidays is being presented as a family-friendly production built around classic Christmas music, contemporary holiday pop songs and large-scale dance numbers.
Hough will be joined by a cast of professional dancers who will interpret familiar seasonal songs through a mix of ballroom, contemporary and theatrical choreography. The production is expected to include elaborate staging and the polished ensemble performances audiences have seen in Hough’s previous live tours and television appearances.
For families planning Austin holiday events, date nights or seasonal outings near Cedar Park, the Nov. 18 performance adds a nationally touring production to Central Texas’ growing calendar of concerts, light displays and Christmas entertainment.
Emmy-Winning Creative Team Joins the Tour
The tour’s creative team includes Emmy Award winners Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo, widely known as NappyTabs. The husband-and-wife choreography team will co-create, direct and supervise choreography for the production.
NappyTabs’ previous credits include Jennifer Lopez’s All I Have Las Vegas residency, Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour and performances for the Grammy Awards. Their involvement signals that the Cedar Park show will be more than a traditional holiday concert, combining dance, visual storytelling and arena-scale production elements.
The tour is produced by Greg Young of Mojave Ghost, a Tony and Drama Desk Award-nominated producer whose credits include Broadway productions such as Bob Fosse’s Dancin’, The Illusionists and Little Women. Young has also produced Las Vegas residencies and touring shows, including Derek Hough: No Limit! and Derek Hough Symphony of Dance.
From ‘Dancing with the Stars’ to the Cedar Park Stage
Hough began dancing at age 11 in his hometown of Salt Lake City and later became one of the most recognizable performers in televised dance.
He is a four-time Emmy Award winner and 13-time nominee, with his four choreography Emmys tying the record for the most in Television Academy history. He is also the only six-time champion in the history of Dancing with the Stars, where he first gained national attention as a professional dancer and later returned as a judge.
His television credits also include four seasons as a judge on NBC’s World of Dance alongside Jennifer Lopez and Ne-Yo, a recurring role on ABC’s Nashville and an appearance in NBC’s Hairspray Live! with Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande, Martin Short and Harvey Fierstein. Hough is currently the host of the entertainment news program Extra.
His stage work has included London’s West End production of Footloose and Radio City Music Hall’s Spring Spectacular. He is also the author of the New York Times bestseller Taking the Lead: Lessons from a Life in Motion.
Cedar Park Among the Tour’s First Stops
The 2026 Dance for the Holidays tour will open Nov. 4 at the Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix before traveling through Portland, Seattle, Southern California and Albuquerque.
The Cedar Park performance on Nov. 18 will be the seventh stop on the tour. After leaving Central Texas, the production will continue through Florida, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Maine, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Idaho before concluding Dec. 30 at the San Jose Civic in California.
Additional tour cities may be announced later.
