Home2 Suites by Hilton to Bring 13-Story Pet-Friendly Hotel to Downtown Austin
In a city known for its tech innovation, live music, and pet-loving culture, Austin is preparing to welcome a new neighbor that blends comfort, convenience, and community. Home2 Suites by Hilton is bringing its signature extended-stay experience to the heart of downtown with a 13-story, all-suite hotel planned for 305 W Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Austin, TX 78701 just a short walk from the University of Texas at Austin.
The project, which will break ground in September 2026 and wrap up by September 2028, is privately funded with an estimated construction cost of $20.2 million. When complete, the 107,000-square-foot Home2 Suites will offer 167 guest rooms, complete with meeting space, dining amenities, and an array of community-focused features that appeal to both business and leisure travelers in the Austin area.

Wagging Tails Welcome
A major draw for many is Home2 Suites’ strong commitment to being pet-friendly. Austin travelers bringing furry companions will feel right at home thanks to the hotel’s partnership with Mars Petcare, which offers guests access to expert tips for traveling with pets. Designated pet areas and clear policies ensure comfort for both pets and their humans. Additional pet fees may apply and vary by location.
A Strategic Location in Austin’s Growth Corridor
Located in Travis County along West MLK Blvd., the new Home2 Suites will rise in one of Austin’s most desirable and accessible corridors—close to public transit, vibrant nightlife, parks, and academic institutions. Its extended-stay model positions it to serve a wide range of guests, including UT visitors, professionals on long-term assignments, families relocating, and those simply seeking a spacious home base for exploring the city.
With this addition, Hilton continues to grow its footprint in the Texas capital, responding to increasing demand for flexible, affordable, and well-appointed lodging as Austin’s population and economy continue to expand.
What’s Next?
Construction on the Home2 Suites Austin is set to begin in fall 2026, with an anticipated opening in late 2028. Once open, it will become one of downtown Austin’s few extended-stay hotel options offering a blend of upscale, eco-conscious, and pet-friendly amenities.
For Austinites and travelers alike, this new hotel is expected to deliver more than just lodging—it’s shaping up to be a welcome addition to the downtown community, offering a comfortable place to stay that truly feels like a home away from home.
