HCSO Halloween Spooktacular Set for October 22 Near the Colonies; Candy Donations Welcome

Colonies  /
October 01 2026

Halloween gives neighbors a reason to come together before the trick-or-treating begins, and families near the Colonies have a free celebration to add to their October plans. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is bringing back its Halloween Spooktacular—and residents can help make the evening a little sweeter for the children who attend.

The second annual event takes place Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at New Life Church, 18525 FM 529, Cypress, TX 77433. Admission is free, and the gathering is intended for the whole family.

A New Location for This Year’s Celebration

Families who attended last year should take note of the move to New Life Church on FM 529. For Colonies residents and nearby communities, it offers an evening out together ahead of Halloween weekend, with the Sheriff’s Office hosting the celebration.

Neighbors Can Help Fill the Candy Supply

HCSO is collecting individually wrapped candy to give to children at the event. A contribution is one way to take part in the community effort, even for neighbors whose schedules will not allow them to attend.

Candy donations can be dropped off at 6505 State Highway 6 North, Houston, TX 77084. Contact Deputy Aviles at 832-297-4837 with questions or to arrange a drop-off time.

Keep the two addresses handy when making plans: candy collection is on Highway 6, while the October 22 celebration will be at New Life Church. Sharing the event and donation details with a neighbor is another simple way to help families hear about the evening.
