Meet Dr. Molly Nakyonyi-Ntwatwa, a dedicated family medicine physician at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. From her humble beginnings in East Africa to her impactful role as the managing physician of the West Grand Parkway Clinic, Dr. Nakyonyi-Ntwatwa exemplifies unwavering commitment to patient care. Discover how her passion for promoting wellness aligns with Kelsey-Seybold's patient-centered approach and the upcoming expansion of the clinic, poised to elevate healthcare services for the Katy community.

Dr. Molly Nakyonyi-Ntwatwa's journey in medicine began in a remote part of East Africa. Originally from the Katende region of Uganda, she recalls her time as a medical student in her home country, serving in a community medicine rotation that exposed her to the harsh realities of preventable diseases. "We saw as many patients as we could, but the need was so great," she reflects. This experience ignited a spark in her to dedicate her life to medicine.

After completing her residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Dr. Nakyonyi-Ntwatwa chose the path of family medicine at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. Here, she had the opportunity to fulfill her dream of helping individuals maintain their highest level of wellness. "I want to act as a health advocate, to work in partnership with patients and communities," she says.

Dr. Nakyonyi-Ntwatwa's path with Kelsey-Seybold started in February 2006 at the Katy Clinic. Over the years, she has worked across different locations, finally being appointed as the managing physician of West Grand Parkway Clinic in June 2019. As a single parent residing in Richmond, she remains active in her community.

"I walk around my neighborhood at least twice a week. I use that time to chat with my neighbors," she explained. Whether it's early morning cardio or a hiking expedition in exotic locales, Dr. Nakyonyi-Ntwatwa embraces an active lifestyle, instilling the same principles of wellness to her patients as well.

As the managing physician, she ensures smooth operations at the clinic and provides the necessary support to physicians and providers. "We achieve this by orienting our new physicians to enhance efficiency, consistency, and communication throughout the onboarding process," Dr. Nakyonyi-Ntwatwa shares.

Her belief in Kelsey-Seybold's comprehensive, patient-centered approach to medical care has only grown stronger. "That’s what makes Kelsey-Seybold a medical leader – having support at all levels to improve patient care. We all work as a team to meet patients’ demands."

Speaking on the expansion of the West Grand Parkway Clinic, she believes it will greatly serve the growing Katy community. The 53,000-square-foot facility will offer comprehensive care for all age groups and encompass a variety of specialties, transforming the West Grand Parkway Clinic into the Kelsey-Seybold West Campus. Kelsey-Seybold celebrated an official ribbon cutting ceremony on February 5 in collaboration with the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce to commemorate the expansion.

Matthew Ferraro, President and CEO of the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce, extends his support saying "The expansion symbolizes Kelsey Seybold's commitment to serving the community. We are delighted about this development and believe it will significantly contribute to the health and wellness of Katy residents."

It's not only about treating the diseases, but also about educating them on preventive measures, and this clinic gives me the platform to do just that."
