District Day Out Brings Family Fun and Community Learning to Grand Lakes Residents on April 12

Residents of Grand Lakes in Katy are invited to a morning of family-friendly fun and community education at District Day Out on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 9 AM to 12 PM (noon). The event, hosted by Grand Lakes MUD 1, Grand Lakes MUD 2, and Grand Lakes MUD 4, will take place at Alexander Elementary School, located at 6161 South Fry Rd., Katy, TX 77494.

This free community event is an opportunity for residents to meet local firefighters and police, engage with Grand Lakes Municipal Utility District (MUD) representatives, and learn about how MUDs contribute to essential community services such as water management, conservation, and public infrastructure.

What to Expect at District Day Out

  • Meet Local Heroes – Firefighters and police officers will be on-site, giving families a chance to learn more about public safety, emergency response, and community engagement. Kids can explore emergency vehicles and interact with first responders.

  • Learn About Grand Lakes MUDs – Ever wondered what a Municipal Utility District (MUD) does? Representatives from Grand Lakes MUD 1, MUD 2, and MUD 4 will be present to explain their role in providing water, drainage, wastewater treatment, and infrastructure improvements for the community.

  • Fun for the Whole Family – This event is designed to be both educational and entertaining, making it a great outing for families to learn more about their local services while enjoying a lively atmosphere.
