On July 8th, the Fort Bend County Master Gardeners are inviting the public to a free Workshop on Rainwater Harvesting & Water Management from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Last year's water restrictions may have left your garden parched, so why not explore an environmentally friendly backup solution? The three-hour workshop will be held at the Agriculture Center, located at 1402 Band Road (Conference Room) in Rosenberg. Please note that registration is required.
Beneficial to the Environment
Harvesting rainwater is an invaluable practice for environmental preservation. It helps to reduce demand on our already strained water supply system and mitigates runoff, erosion, and contamination of surface water. For those interested in contributing to the sustainability of our planet, this workshop is an excellent opportunity to learn more about this eco-friendly practice.
A Blessing for Your Home Garden
As any gardener knows, plants require a steady water supply, particularly during periods of intense heat. Dealing with water restrictions can be a nightmare for garden enthusiasts, but harvesting rainwater can be the perfect solution. This workshop will teach attendees the basics of rainwater harvesting, providing a robust and sustainable water supply for your garden.
Save Money
Not only does rainwater harvesting help to protect the environment and keep your garden flourishing, but it can also lead to significant savings on your water bill. Especially in times of water restrictions, having an independent water supply can alleviate the financial burden of maintaining your garden's vitality.
