Cypress Assistance Ministries Launches Annual Back-to-School Campaign to Support CFISD Students in Need

June 20 2024

Cypress Assistance Ministries (CAM) is rallying the Cy-Fair community for its annual back-to-school campaign aiming to support the district's economically disadvantaged students. Every year, CAM leads a crucial initiative to provide school supplies and backpacks to students in the Cy-Fair ISD who might otherwise start the school year without necessary materials.

During their previous campaign, the nonprofit successfully distributed over 1,200 backpacks and various school supplies to students in need, thanks to the community's generosity. According to the District, 61.5% of its 118,732 students were economically disadvantaged during the 2023-2024 school year. As the need persists, CAM is making another appeal for the community's support.

Contributors may participate in several ways. Interested parties can donate needed school supplies directly or make a monetary contribution. The organization also encourages locals to lead their supply collection drives within their respective communities or workplaces. Additionally, CAM is looking for volunteers to help distribute the collected items. Another way to support the cause is by spreading the word, enabling the charity to connect with more potential supporters.

Donations can also be conveniently made through their Amazon Wishlist found here, with items purchased directly delivered to the organization. They will be accepting donations until August 5, from Monday to Wednesday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and Thursday to Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM.

This annual drive by CAM is crucial in ensuring students in need are equipped for a successful academic year. In the face of persisting economic hardship, their effort lends a hand to local families, reducing the burden of back-to-school expenses. To learn more about CAM, visit cypressassistance.org
