Construction Underway on The 1824 at Austin Point, a New Social Hub Shaping Community Life in Fort Bend County
Construction is officially underway on The 1824 at Austin Point, a 2.5-acre social hub designed to serve as the heart of early community life in one of the Houston region’s most ambitious new master-planned communities. Located in Fort Bend County, Austin Point spans 4,700 acres and is the largest master-planned community announced in the region in more than 40 years, ultimately supporting over 50,000 residents across 14,000 homes.
Developed by The Signorelli Company, The 1824 is anticipated to open in early spring and will anchor Phase One of Austin Point. More than an amenity, the space is intentionally designed as civic infrastructure—a place where daily life, social interaction, and shared experiences naturally come together.
“The 1824 is integral to Austin Point’s DNA because it’s the connective tissue between homes, people, and ecosystems,” said Jeff Dewese, senior vice president of the land division at The Signorelli Company. “The 1824 isn’t just an amenity – it’s civic infrastructure. It’s a place that will adapt with the seasons, the community, and the people who live here. Public space is the wisest investment we can make in a lasting community.”
A Central Gathering Place Designed for Connection
Named for 1824, the year Stephen F. Austin facilitated a historic land grant to William T. Austin, the space is envisioned as both a welcoming front porch and a communal backyard for residents and visitors alike. The 1824 will include a 2,800-square-foot pavilion-style building featuring a café, wine bar, and expansive covered porches, surrounded by trails, green spaces, and sustainable water features.

Planned outdoor amenities include an event and concert lawn, open spaces for fitness and games, a children’s exploration play hill designed for multiple age groups, a food truck court, and a natural creek. Year-round programming is expected to activate the space, creating a steady rhythm of everyday use and special gatherings as the neighborhood grows.
Honor Society Coffee Co. Expands for the First Time
Anchoring the food and beverage experience at The 1824 will be Honor Society Coffee Co., a beloved Tomball-based coffee roaster and community café. The Austin Point location marks Honor Society’s first expansion since opening its original shop in 2022.
“We’re intentional about scaling Honor Society in a way that benefits communities, so we were ecstatic when Austin Point asked if we were interested in opening a new location at The 1824,” said Billy Schiel, co-founder of Honor Society Coffee Co. “We aren’t here to create a culture at Austin Point, but to provide a space where culture can exist and thrive. It’s an honor to be part of something that celebrates community, not just commerce. Every cup of coffee can be another reminder for people to slow down and connect.”
The café will offer craft coffee and specialty drinks, along with beer, wine, salads, paninis, and grab-and-go items, including the brand’s well-known coffee cake. Founders Billy and JoJo Schiel will also host events and gatherings, reinforcing the space’s role as a true neighborhood living room.

Setting the Tone for Austin Point’s Long-Term Vision
The 1824 is located near the first 421 homes in Phase One and reflects Austin Point’s broader vision of walkable, neo-traditional planning that blends residential, mixed-use, and recreational spaces. Additional features include seamless trail connectivity, remote work areas, free community Wi-Fi, custom furnishings crafted by local maker Mercy Goods, and landscaping designed with integrated stormwater systems.
“From the start, we envisioned The 1824 as a catalyst for daily life and a place where unscripted moments could build lifelong relationships,” Dewese said. “It’s a place where neighbors will become friends and families will become a community. Generations from now, it will still be the backdrop to countless stories.”
As Austin Point continues to take shape, The 1824 stands as an early signal of how public space, thoughtful design, and local partnerships are intended to define community life in one of Fort Bend County’s fastest-growing areas.
