Constable Herman's Office Spreads Thanksgiving Cheer with Operation Turkey Dinner

November 22 2023

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Constable Mark Herman's Office continued its long-standing tradition of giving back to the community through the annual "Operation Turkey Dinner." Coordinated by the Domestic Violence Division and Victims Assistance Unit, the 23rd edition of this heartfelt program aims to provide support and outreach to families facing challenging times during the holiday season.

Identifying families in need, Constable Herman's Office took proactive steps to ensure that these families would not go without a warm and hearty Thanksgiving meal. The dedicated team prepared and delivered dozens of fully cooked dinners, each comprising an oven-roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, old-fashioned stuffing, turkey gravy, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, a pumpkin pie, and a 2-liter soft drink. These generous portions are designed to feed families of 6 to 8, bringing a touch of warmth and joy to those who may be facing difficulties during the holiday season.

Emphasizing the commitment to community service, Constable Deputies actively engaged in delivering not only meals but also goodwill to less fortunate families in the local area. The initiative also fosters a sense of unity and support during a time traditionally dedicated to gratitude and togetherness, even among the multiple agencies who worked together in support of residents in need.

“This year we were honored to partner with Commissioners Tom Ramsey and Lesley Briones, State Representative Sam Harless and Judge Lincoln Goodwin. Precinct 4 is proud to assist our community who shows us an abundance of support,” said Constable Mark Herman.

"Operation Turkey Dinner" is a community-driven effort, and no County funds were utilized for this heartwarming event. Constable Mark Herman's Office continues to exemplify the spirit of giving, ensuring that Thanksgiving reaches every corner of the community, even in the face of adversity.
