Colonies Neighborhood Center Pool to Open Memorial Weekend Following Harris County Health Approval
As temperatures begin climbing across the Greater Houston area, families in The Colonies now have confirmation that one of the neighborhood’s favorite summer gathering spots will be ready for Memorial Day weekend.
The Colonies Neighborhood Center pool, located at 15003 Yorktown Colony Dr., Houston, TX 77084, has officially passed its Harris County Public Health inspection and is scheduled to open May 23, May 24 and May 25 for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Owned and operated by Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 102 (Harris County MUD 102), the public pool serves as a longtime community destination for residents looking to cool off, spend time with neighbors and enjoy family-friendly recreation close to home.
The opening marks the unofficial start of summer for many families in The Colonies, where neighborhood pools often become a central hub for children, parents and residents gathering throughout the season.
Daily entry to the Colonies Neighborhood Center pool is $5.
In addition to Memorial Day weekend access, residents can also prepare for the broader 2026 swim season through early pool registration opportunities currently being offered by Harris County MUD 102. More information about pool cards and registration can be found through My Neighborhood News at myneighborhoodnews.com/colonies.
For many residents, the pool represents more than a place to swim. Community pools across west Houston neighborhoods continue to play an important role in bringing families together during the summer months while providing accessible recreation close to home.
With Memorial Day weekend approaching, the approval also provides reassurance to residents planning holiday gatherings and summer activities in The Colonies area.
