Born and Raised: Life Long Katy Resident Deepens Commitment to Home Town with Family Business Expansion

January 18 2024

In the heart of Katy, Cool-Leo A/C & Heat is raising the bar for air conditioning and heating services through its customer-focused approach and dedication to sustainability. Dustin Potter, the owner and a long-time Katy resident, is leading this locally owned business to new heights, with his roots deeply embedded in the community that he calls home.

"Having lived in Katy all my life, my family and I have always felt deeply connected to this community," Potter says. "Cool-Leo is more than just a business, it's our commitment to serve our community, our neighbors, and friends, with the best possible A/C and heating services." Getting his start in HVAC as part of an installation crew in 2009, Dustin quickly rose to the position of lead installer, and then service technician, using his growing expertise and unique approach to distinguish himself among HVAC contractors, paving the way for the formation of Cool-Leo.

But Potter's vision for Cool-Leo goes beyond installations and repairs. His goal is to form long-term relationships with customers, providing not just superior HVAC services, but also educating homeowners on energy efficiency and sustainability.

"We want to help our customers reduce their carbon footprint and energy costs," Potter explains. "That's why we have a team of certified experts who are constantly training to stay at the forefront of the industry's best practices, and who also specialize in indoor air quality solutions."

In line with their commitment to better serve the Katy community, Cool-Leo recently celebrated the opening of their new location to meet the needs of their growing business with a ribbon-cutting event on January 10, in partnership with the Katy Area Chamber. This location boasts state-of-the-art diagnostic and repair equipment, a fully stocked parts warehouse, and a comfortable customer service area.

"We're proud be 'The King Of The Attic,' and it's no coincidence our new location is on Kingsland Boulevard," said Dustin.

By joining the Katy Area Chamber, Cool-Leo aims to connect with other local businesses and contribute to the economic development of the community. "The Chamber's resources and network provide valuable support for our business. We look forward to actively participating in Chamber activities and initiatives," adds Potter.

When he isn't helping customers across the Katy area, Dustin enjoys spending time with his wife of 16 years, Jenna, and their two sons and daughter. He recently purchased his childhood friend's home in Richmond, where he made countless memories as a youth, and is now experiencing the joy of watching his own children create similar memories under the same old pecan trees. The home's HVAC system, which led Dustin to this nostalgic purchase thanks to a late evening service call, continues to function perfectly.
