Twelve CFISD Dance Students Selected for TDEA All-State Honors

Twelve CFISD dance students representing 12 high schools were selected to the Texas Dance Educators Association (TDEA) All-State Dance Team at the 2023 state convention, held at the Marriott Marquis Houston Jan. 4-7.

The following 12 students were selected as TDEA All-State members:

  • McKinlee Polansky, Bridgeland Belles;
  • Katelyn Kilgore, Cy-Fair Brigade;
  • Tania McGarity, Cypress Creek Silverados;
  • Logan Driver, Cypress Falls Sky Dancers;
  • Asia Spencer, Cypress Lakes Sterling Stars;
  • Alexa Pena, Cypress Park Flairs;
  • Rylie Alcorn, Cypress Ranch Classics;
  • Kelly Dinh, Cypress Ridge Dazzlers;
  • Emily Schoth, Cypress Springs Panteras;
  • Alison Peiffer, Cypress Woods Crimson Cadettes;
  • Aimee Almaraz, Jersey Village Gold Dusters; and
  • Rachel Holcombe, Langham Creek Bailadoras.

The TDEA All-State Dance Team is comprised of dancers representing schools from across the state of Texas. All-state dancers participate in a convention experience that includes dance workshops, leadership training, master classes and networking with other dance students. The TDEA All-State Dance Team performed a routine choreographed by master choreographer Sarah Garcia.

Cy-Fair High School senior Katelyn Kilgore and Cypress Woods High School senior Alison Peiffer were both named recipients of the TDEA Hall of Fame scholarship.

“I had the privilege of observing the TDEA All-State Team in rehearsal and I was extremely impressed by the sheer amount of talent, work ethic and discipline in the room,” said Kelley Hughes, coordinator of secondary fine arts. “We should all be proud of who these young ladies are and all they will inevitably accomplish.”
