Tomball Regional Health Foundation Awards $204,412 Grant to Tomball ISD for Campus Based Mental Health Initiatives

February 15 2024

In an effort to continue supporting students through mental health initiatives, Tomball ISD was the proud recipient of a $204,412 grant from the Tomball Regional Health Foundation.

2024 marks the sixth year of Tomball ISD’s partnership with the Tomball Regional Health Foundation and its full continuum model of mental health support and services. Through this partnership, the financial, time, and transportation barriers are removed to help ensure that all students have access to high quality mental health care on campus, during the school day.

In 2023, Tomball ISD utilized an $80,000 grant from the Tomball Regional Health Foundation to provide 1,310 campus-based counseling sessions to 153 students district-wide. These students showed a remarkable 124% increase in their Resilience score based on a pre and post resilience scale assessment.

In addition to the $80,000 grant, the Tomball Regional Health Foundation also awarded TISD a $65,000 bridge grant in August 2023 to help the District serve an additional 60 students during the Fall semester.

The  award of $204,412, approved by the Board of Trustees during the February Board Meeting, is a 156% increase from last year’s grant and is expected to serve an additional 200 students and families with this amount.
