Tomball ISD District Zone Reset Process in Motion
October 11 2023
At a recent Tomball ISD School Board Meeting, the District presented its plan to open another school at the Tomball Innovation Center. The new campus will be an intermediate school serving students in grades 5 and 6 and will bring consistent grade configurations across the entire district. All elementary schools will now serve grades K-4, intermediate schools grades 5 and 6, junior high schools grades 7 and 8, and high schools grades 9 through 12. This new campus --Intermediate School #5-- is scheduled to open for the 2026-2027 school year.
Tomball ISD will be opening three new schools within the next few years:
-
West Elementary - scheduled to open for the 2024-2025 school year
-
West Intermediate - scheduled to open for the 2025-2026 school year
-
Tomball West High School - scheduled to open for the 2026-2027 school year
Additionally, the District presented information to the Board regarding the District Zone Reset, the process that would be followed for adjusting attendance boundaries to incorporate the new schools and provide relief to schools that are at or above capacity. Tomball ISD has always valued community voice, but now more than ever, Tomball ISD wants stakeholders informed and engaged in this process. The process for the District Zone Reset is outlined at tomballisd.net/families/district-zone-reset.
The District Zone Reset webpage is the primary source for all information and relevant materials, during this process. The final plans approved in January will be developed with the best interest of all District students and families in mind. Visit the District Zone Reset page for more information and future updates.
