The Spazmatics Return to Stafford for an ’80s ‘Party with a Purpose’ Benefiting Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels
Fort Bend County residents can rewind to the 1980s for a “Party with a Purpose” this September, when The Spazmatics return to Stafford for a night of music, dancing and fundraising that will directly benefit local seniors.
The Sept. 12 fundraiser at FireHorse Saloon, located at 501 Murphy Road in Stafford, will pair The Spazmatics’ familiar new wave ’80s soundtrack with food, raffles, a live auction, a 360 photo booth and plenty of opportunities to break out the neon, leg warmers and big hair.
Presented with Platinum Sponsor Staff Force Personnel Services, the event is designed to be a fun night out with a distinctly local purpose: all proceeds directly support Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels.
More Than an ’80s Party for Fort Bend
Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels has been serving older adults in the area since 1974, when community leaders formed what has become one of Fort Bend County’s oldest nonprofit organizations. During its first year, the organization provided about 20,000 hot meals. Today, it serves seniors throughout Fort Bend and Waller counties.
Its work extends well beyond delivering food.
Fort Bend Seniors operates a Meals on Wheels program for homebound residents as well as six senior centers where adults age 60 and older can gather for meals, recreational activities and other services. The organization also provides transportation, health screenings, social connection programs and additional support intended to help seniors remain healthy and independent in their own communities.
In 2025 alone, Fort Bend Seniors reported providing 369,611 meals to more than 2,100 seniors across its service area.
Those numbers help explain why a fundraiser built around an ’80s party can have an impact long after the music stops. For many homebound seniors, a Meals on Wheels delivery also brings a familiar person to the door — someone who can visit briefly, check in and provide another point of connection during the week.
The Spazmatics Return to Fort Bend County
The Spazmatics are returning to Fort Bend County for the Sept. 12 event, bringing their signature take on the music and style of the 1980s to FireHorse Saloon.
Promoted as “The Ultimate New Wave ’80s Band,” the group will bring what event organizers describe as the best — and perhaps a little of the worst — of the decade to the stage. The Spazmatics are known for turning ’80s nostalgia into a full-on live experience, mixing recognizable hits with a playful, theatrical style that has become part of the band’s identity.
Doors open at 6 p.m., along with the bucket raffle and a preview of the evening’s live auction. Platinum and Gold sponsors will also have access to the Mixtape Mixer from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Then, at 8 p.m., The Spazmatics take the stage.
Guests are encouraged to dress for the decade, whether that means neon, leg warmers, oversized hair or another favorite ’80s look. A 360 photo booth and four selfie spots will give attendees a place to capture the night.
J’s Tacos & More will be onsite serving food, and a cash bar will be available throughout the evening.
Full Sept. 12 Event Schedule
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with doors opening, the bucket raffle and live auction preview. The Mixtape Mixer for Platinum and Gold Sponsors runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by The Spazmatics at 8 p.m.
At 9 p.m., guests can take part in the Heads or Tails game, followed by the live auction at 9:15 p.m. The bucket raffle closes at 10 p.m.
The Spazmatics are scheduled to finish their show at 11 p.m., but the night will not end there. DJ Thor will take over as the party continues until FireHorse Saloon closes at 2 a.m.
Tickets Are Only Available Through Fort Bend Seniors
There is one important detail for anyone planning to attend: tickets are only available through Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels and will not be sold through FireHorse Saloon.
The event is 18 and older, and all attendees must have valid identification. Guests younger than 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Tickets are nonrefundable, and outside food and drinks are not permitted.

For Fort Bend residents, the fundraiser offers a Saturday night built around familiar music, a little nostalgia and the chance to dress like it is 1986 again. But the bigger story is what happens after the last song.
Every ticket, raffle entry and auction bid helps support an organization that has spent more than five decades bringing meals, services and human connection to older neighbors across Fort Bend and Waller counties.
The music may bring people together for one night, but the purpose behind it is far more lasting: helping Fort Bend seniors remain fed, supported and connected to the community they helped build.
