Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service to Host Senior Health, Safety, & Awareness Day at Fort Bend County Fairgrounds on May 22
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service-Fort Bend County is prioritizing the holistic health and well-being of its senior community with its upcoming Senior Health, Safety, and Awareness Day, scheduled for May 22, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds, Building C.
This informative event aims to empower seniors and their families with knowledge on a variety of topics that affect senior living and well-being. Ranging from mental health support, to strategies to prevent and respond to emergencies or fraud, this event is a comprehensive exploration of the vital aspects that encompass and affect senior health and safety.
Disaster preparedness will instruct attendees on how to strategize, prepare and respond to emergency situations. Furthermore, mental health support will be addressed, providing attendees with valuable insights and tools to maintain mental well-being and manage stress effectively.
Additionally, the event will cover fraud prevention tactics, especially those that target vulnerable senior citizens and Medicare beneficiaries. Attendees will receive advice on how to safeguard personal information and detect fraudulent activities, ensuring a safer environment for themselves and their families.
