SeaWorld San Antonio Brings ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Haunted House to Howl-O-Scream 2026
SeaWorld San Antonio is bringing one of the most recognizable horror films of the 1990s to life this fall, adding an all-new I Know What You Did Last Summer haunted house to its 2026 Howl-O-Scream lineup.
The experience, titled I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch, will open Sept. 11 at SeaWorld San Antonio, as well as the company’s parks in Orlando and San Diego. According to SeaWorld, this will be the first time the horror franchise has been adapted for a major Halloween event.
For San Antonio-area horror fans, the announcement adds a well-known movie property to one of the region’s largest seasonal attractions. Guests will be able to walk through recreations of scenes inspired by the original 1997 film while encountering the Fisherman, the raincoat-wearing killer whose hook became one of the franchise’s defining images.
A Horror Classic Comes to SeaWorld San Antonio
The haunted house is based on the first film in the I Know What You Did Last Summer series, which follows a group of friends trying to conceal a deadly accident. Their secret soon draws the attention of a killer determined to make them face what happened.
SeaWorld’s version will place guests inside the story, guiding them through scenes connected to the fictional Southport massacre and other moments inspired by the original movie.
“We're always looking for new ways to raise the bar on immersive entertainment, and bringing 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' to our Howl-O-Scream events is an exciting milestone for all three SeaWorld parks,” said Marc Swanson, CEO of United Parks & Resorts. “This thrilling franchise has captivated horror fans for years with its suspense and terror. Now our guests will step into that world, facing some of the same heart-pounding moments that made the film come alive. As one thrilling part of a lineup of haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment and immersive experiences, we are excited to deliver what we believe is our most ambitious Howl-O-Scream yet.”
The attraction joins a broader Howl-O-Scream experience that traditionally includes multiple haunted houses, outdoor scare zones, themed bars, live entertainment and roller coasters operating after dark.
What Guests Can Expect at Howl-O-Scream 2026
SeaWorld San Antonio’s Howl-O-Scream is designed as an after-dark Halloween event with more intense scares than the park’s daytime seasonal offerings. The addition of I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch gives the 2026 event a recognizable centerpiece for longtime horror fans, younger guests discovering the franchise and visitors looking for Halloween attractions in San Antonio.
The new haunted house will debut simultaneously at SeaWorld San Antonio, SeaWorld Orlando and SeaWorld San Diego on Sept. 11.
At the San Antonio park, Howl-O-Scream is included with regular park admission. SeaWorld is also promoting a Summer Sale on single-day tickets, Season Passes and Annual Passes, though pricing and promotional availability may vary.
Why the Announcement Matters for San Antonio
Large-scale Halloween events continue to play an important role in San Antonio’s fall entertainment calendar, drawing families, young adults, tourists and longtime theme park visitors from across the region.
By introducing a nationally known horror franchise, SeaWorld San Antonio is giving local guests a new reason to return after dark while expanding the city’s list of immersive Halloween experiences. The announcement may be especially welcome for residents searching for haunted houses near San Antonio, Halloween events for adults or theme park attractions that combine live entertainment with thrill rides.
The movie-inspired addition also reflects a broader shift among theme parks toward more cinematic, story-driven haunted attractions. Rather than simply moving guests through a collection of unrelated scares, these experiences are built around recognizable characters, settings and narratives.
For visitors familiar with the original film, the SeaWorld San Antonio haunted house will offer a chance to experience the story from inside the action. For newcomers, it will serve as an introduction to a franchise that has remained part of popular horror culture for nearly three decades.
What Happens Next
SeaWorld San Antonio is expected to release additional details about its full 2026 Howl-O-Scream lineup, including other haunted houses, scare zones, entertainment and event dates.
Guests planning to attend can review admission options and promotional offers through SeaWorld San Antonio. Because Howl-O-Scream is included with park admission in San Antonio, visitors may also be able to combine daytime attractions with the nighttime Halloween event.
