Restaurant Spotlight: Howdy Homemade Ice Cream Katy
Howdy Homemade was born out of a vision to see and realize the potential of everyone and a steel conviction that the restaurant industry is about people first, then food. Tom Landis, the founder of Howdy Handmade Ice Cream, attributes his passion to Gene Stallings' book, Another Season, and the book of Proverbs. After two decades, he has helped open 13 stores throughout the United States to help employ individuals with special needs.
Serving up 18 flavors, Howdy keeps a core of flavors in stock and rotates the rest to provide customers with a variety of flavors. See a list of flavors by clicking here. They also offer catering services to provide their homemade ice cream at your special event!
The name Howdy is a tribute to Gene Stallings, Bear Bryant, and every underdog out there. And their marquee item—the world's first Dr. Pepper Chocolate Chip ice cream—appeals to every Texan young and old. They're huge Dr. Pepper fans, and not only because they've sold more than 12,000,000 Dr. Peppers over the past two decades! Dr. Pepper is the title sponsor of The Gene Stallings Coaches Award. Dr Pepper has done more to help the special needs community than any other corporation, and Howdy Homemade Ice Cream wants to honor this company with their company. They truly are one-of-a-kind Peppers!
