Free 8-Week Teen Coding Workshop Coming to Local Library
As interest in coding continues to rise, your Harris County Public Library system is answering the call to help teens gain exposure to the world of coding with free classes.
Teens are invited to become great webmasters by registering for a free, 8-week CSS workshop at Maud Marks Branch Library in Katy. CSS, which stands for Cascading Style Sheets, is a style sheet language that is used for the description of HTML elements that are displayed on screen, paper, and other media. This 8-week series will cover the basics and structures of CSS such as adding color, text, lists, and tables.
No prior coding experience is required, although prior experience working with HTML may be helpful. Online registration is required, and you must be able to attend all 8 weekly sessions. The workshop begins on Monday, September 11, 2023 and runs weekly from 4:30 to 5:30 PM through Monday, October 30, 2023 in the computer lab at Maud Marks Branch Library. This branch is located at 5414 Franz Road in Katy. Participants must be in grades 6-12 or aged 12-17 to register.
Registration and space are limited, and registration begins on Monday, September 4 at 3:00 PM. Mark your calendar and click here to register your student. For more information, please contact Shatonya Watts by phone at mail at shatonya.watts@hcpl.net.
