Fulshear Walmart to Celebrate Grand Re-Opening August 15 with Store of the Future Upgrades
Fulshear-area shoppers are invited to celebrate the grand re-opening of their local Walmart on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. The event will take place at 26824 FM 1093 in Richmond (Walmart Store No. 4111) and will feature music, cheering, special presentations, and family-friendly activities.
The celebration is part of Walmart’s nationwide “Store of the Future” initiative, which is remodeling 650 stores across 47 states and Puerto Rico over the next year. The Fulshear store is among the latest locations to receive a transformation aimed at blending in-person convenience with digital innovation.
Attendees can expect a lively morning with performances from the Fulshear Chargers Cheerleaders and Band, music from DJ Mix Master Brown, and community recognition moments led by the Fulshear Regional Chamber for Commerce. The grand re-opening is designed to be as much a community celebration as a retail milestone.

Walmart says its Store of the Future model introduces features like wider aisles, redesigned layouts, and enhanced signage to help shoppers navigate more intuitively. The remodel integrates thousands of QR codes and digital shelf labels, giving instant mobile access to expanded product selections, pricing, and availability. The concept also includes upgraded fulfillment systems to support curbside pickup, 30-minute express delivery, and Walmart’s InHome delivery service.
Additional amenities in some locations—such as drive-thru pharmacies, health and vision centers, and specialty food stations—are tailored to reflect the needs of local communities. Sustainability measures include energy-efficient lighting, modern refrigeration, and lower-impact refrigerants. Walmart is also working to expand a nationwide network of affordable electric vehicle fast-charging stations for customers and associates.
“When it comes to investing in America, Walmart has a very strong history. We directly employ approximately 1.6 million people in this country and support many more jobs beyond that,” the company stated in its January 2024 announcement.

The nationwide remodel program is expected to create tens of thousands of jobs through construction and related projects. “Our new and remodeled stores will reflect Walmart's Store of the Future concept, featuring improved layouts, expanded product selections and innovative technology to help our associates better support our customers and make shopping more convenient and enjoyable,” Walmart noted.
The company emphasized the long-term community benefits: “We’re proud that improving our stores also has a tangible impact in the communities we serve. What a win it is to invest in America, grow our business and move toward a more sustainable future – all at the same time.”
The Fulshear grand re-opening will run from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on August 15, 2025. The public is welcome to attend, enjoy the festivities, and experience the upgraded store first-hand.
