Tomball and Magnolia sit close enough to Houston for an easy afternoon drive, but their pumpkin patches can feel a world away from errands and traffic. Families can browse hundreds of pumpkin varieties, ride through a farm, meet rescue animals or spend a morning supporting local vendors.

The best patch is not necessarily the one with the most attractions. Sometimes it is the place where a child has room to inspect every pumpkin, where the family picture does not feel rushed, or where the purchase helps a small farm or nonprofit continue its work.

Rosehill Pumpkins Pumpkin Patch — Tomball

• Dates: Sept. 19–Nov. 14, 2026, 10 a.m.–7 p.m. daily
• Location: 19243 Farm to Market 2920, Tomball, TX 77377
• Admission: Free Monday–Thursday; $5 for ages 13 and older Friday–Sunday; children 12 and younger free

Rosehill Pumpkins is celebrating its 17th season with hundreds of pumpkins, fall photo opportunities, family games and activities. Live music is scheduled on Saturdays beginning Oct. 3. Pumpkins, food, drinks and merchandise are sold separately, and leashed pets are welcome.

The locally owned business began as a small patch within Rosehill Palms Landscaping and Garden Center. In 2026, the familiar Rosehill Palms Pumpkin Patch name changed to Rosehill Pumpkins, but the Tomball location and family tradition remain the same. Visitors can look for classic carving pumpkins as well as specialty varieties such as Cinderella, Ghost and Blue Jarrahdale.

Harvest Season Farm Pumpkin Patch — Tomball

Harvest Season Farm has offered a relaxed weekend patch with pumpkins, hayrides, pony rides, bounce houses, pumpkin painting, food vendors and a shaded playground. My Neighborhood News’ 2025 regional guide described it as stroller- and pet-friendly, with free parking and wagons available to help move pumpkins.

Those details reflect the prior season and should be reconfirmed for 2026. At verification time, a current operating schedule was not available, so families should wait for the farm’s official season announcement.

The Good Vibe Farm Pumpkin Patch — Tomball

The Good Vibe Farm is a small nonprofit rescue farm where visits center on friendly animals and close-to-nature experiences. Its 2025 pumpkin patch was a limited two-day event with pumpkin painting, tree swings, food trucks and animal encounters.

The farm ordinarily opens for events and appointments rather than daily walk-in traffic. No verified 2026 pumpkin-patch dates were available at review time, so families should not arrive without an announced event or reservation.

City of Magnolia Fall Festival — Magnolia

• Date: Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
• Location: Unity Park, 19450 Unity Park Drive, Magnolia, TX 77355
• Admission: Free

The City of Magnolia Fall Festival is scheduled to make its debut in 2026 with more than 60 vendors, family activities, games, food, sweets and a dunk tank featuring Magnolia City Council members.

The city’s published description promises seasonal fun but does not specifically confirm a retail pumpkin patch. Families seeking pumpkins to buy should choose one of the dedicated patches above; families seeking a free community gathering can add the Magnolia festival to the calendar.

Oil Ranch Fall Festival — Hockley, Near the Tomball/Magnolia Area

• Dates: Oct. 2–Nov. 21, 2026; Fridays and Saturdays, plus Sundays in October
• Location: 23501 Macedonia Rd, Hockley, TX 77447

Although its Hockley address places it just outside Tomball and Magnolia, Oil Ranch is close enough to be a useful regional option. The ranch combines a pumpkin patch and photo displays with train and hay rides, farm animals, pony rides, fishing, mini golf and additional outdoor attractions. Children age 12 and younger receive one pumpkin with admission during October.

Families comparing regional guides may also see Oil Ranch listed with northwest Houston because Hockley sits between these coverage areas. It appears here as a nearby option, not as a Tomball or Magnolia address.

Turn the Visit Into a Tradition

Take one “same spot, same pose” photograph every year, or let each child select one small pumpkin without adult intervention. Save seeds from the carving pumpkin for roasting, paint rather than carve one pumpkin so it lasts longer, or invite grandparents to choose a variety they remember from childhood.

For the smoothest trip, visit early, pack water and wear shoes suited to uneven ground. Photograph the pumpkin price sign before shopping if pumpkins are sold by weight or size, and measure the porch or car space before a child falls in love with the largest one on the lot. Most importantly, check the venue’s current page on the day of the visit—outdoor schedules can change quickly with weather, supply and volunteer availability.
