A longtime Tomball beauty business may be preparing for a significant new chapter in neighboring Magnolia, with a state project filing outlining plans for a $2.5 million Aloha Beauty Lounge development on Honea Egypt Road.

The new construction project is planned for 835 Honea Egypt Road in Magnolia, according to project information. The filing lists a 12,366-square-foot beauty lounge with an estimated construction cost of $2.5 million.

Construction is currently listed as beginning Dec. 1, 2026, with completion anticipated Dec. 1, 2027. As with other early-stage construction filings, dates, costs and project details can change as planning and construction move forward.

For residents along Honea Egypt Road and in the growing Magnolia area, the project is notable not only because of its size, but because Aloha Beauty Lounge already has nearly two decades of history serving customers just down the road in Tomball.

From a Small Tomball Nail Salon to a Full Beauty Lounge

Aloha Beauty Lounge traces its Tomball roots to 2007 and describes itself as a family-owned and operated business. Its current location is at 107 N. Sycamore St. in downtown Tomball.

Owner Tracey Phan's path to building the business began several years earlier. According to a business profile from the Tomball Economic Development Corporation, Phan moved to the United States in 2002, settled in southwest Houston and worked while attending cosmetology school and learning English. Five years later, she purchased what was then known as Aloha Nails in Tomball.

The business began as an approximately 800-square-foot nail salon operated by Phan alone. Over time, it expanded into a roughly 2,400-square-foot beauty lounge with 12 employees, according to the Tomball Economic Development Corporation's profile. Phan also expanded the range of services offered and began teaching professional beauty classes.

“I want to do everything I can to make customers feel beautiful and confident,” Phan told the economic development organization.

Aloha Beauty Lounge later relocated from Main Street to its current Sycamore Street location, opening there after spending more than 15 years at its previous site.

What Aloha Beauty Lounge Offers

Today, Aloha Beauty Lounge has grown well beyond its beginnings as a traditional nail salon.

The Tomball location offers manicures, spa pedicures, artificial nails, Gel-X and builder gel services, along with eyelash extensions, lash lifts and tinting, brow services, waxing, facials and permanent makeup. Its service menu also includes treatments such as microblading and lip blushing.

That wider service mix helps explain why the planned Magnolia facility stands out. At 12,366 square feet, the proposed building would be substantially larger than the approximately 2,400-square-foot Tomball operation described by the Tomball Economic Development Corporation.

The state filing, however, identifies the scope only as a “Beauty Lounge.” It does not detail how the interior space would be divided, which services would be offered at the Magnolia property, how many employees the location could support or whether additional components are planned.

The filing also does not indicate whether the Honea Egypt Road development would replace the existing downtown Tomball location or operate as an additional location. Aloha Beauty Lounge's current website continues to identify 107 N. Sycamore St. as its Tomball address. The owner information in the state permit filing, however, strongly suggests that the Aloha Beaty Lounge location in Magnolia is being developed by the owners of the existing Tomball location.

Why the Honea Egypt Road Location Matters

For Magnolia residents, a project of this scale would add another service-oriented business investment along Honea Egypt Road while extending the footprint of a locally established company with roots in the Tomball-Magnolia area.

The project is listed as being constructed on private property using private funds, meaning the reported $2.5 million estimated construction cost represents private investment.

Its location could also bring Aloha Beauty Lounge closer to customers living throughout the Magnolia, Pinehurst and western Montgomery County area who currently travel toward Tomball for shopping, dining and personal services.

A 12,366-square-foot beauty lounge would represent a considerable expansion in physical space compared with the business's documented history, particularly considering Aloha began as a one-person, 800-square-foot salon.

What Happens Next for the Magnolia Aloha Beauty Lounge Project

Under the current project schedule, construction is expected to begin Dec. 1, 2026 and continue through Dec. 1, 2027.

Residents should keep in mind that a state project registration reflects plans at the time of filing and is not necessarily a guarantee that construction will begin or finish on the dates listed. Development timelines can change because of permitting, design, financing, construction conditions and other factors.

Still, the filing offers an early look at what could become a substantial new beauty and personal care destination for the Magnolia area, backed by a business that has spent nearly 20 years building its customer base in neighboring Tomball.

For a company that started with one owner in a small nail salon and gradually grew into a broader beauty operation, the planned Honea Egypt Road project could mark another significant stage in Aloha Beauty Lounge's local story.
