Greenspoint Mall Demolition Planned for October as $150 Million CityNorth Project Takes Shape
Demolition at Greenspoint Mall is expected to begin in October for the $150 million CityNorth Industrial Park, a redevelopment by Lincoln Property Company and New York Life Investment Management.
The approximately 80-acre property at 12300 North Freeway, northeast of Interstate 45 and Beltway 8, is planned for 1.2 million square feet of industrial buildings plus retail and service uses.
What Is Planned
The companies announced the acquisition and project September 22; Lincoln posted the release online September 25. The first phase is targeted for the first quarter of 2028. Those dates remain developer projections.
Fitness Connection will stay at the property in a new 45,500-square-foot building. Plans include cross-dock and rear-load industrial buildings, with Powers Brown Architecture, Kimley-Horn and E.E. Reed Construction on the project team.
Projected Employment
The developers estimate approximately 300 construction jobs and 1,200 full-time jobs when the project is fully developed. Those are projections, not current job openings.
For North Houston residents and commuters, October demolition would mark the next visible step in converting the prominent former shopping-center site to industrial use.
