New Magnolia 182 Fire Station Planned for FM 2978 as Montgomery County ESD 10 Expands Community Safety Infrastructure
As Magnolia continues to grow, Montgomery County Emergency Services District No. 10 is preparing for a major public safety investment: the construction of the new Magnolia 182 Fire Station, a 9,410-square-foot facility planned at 27114 FM 2978, Magnolia, TX 77354. The project reflects the district’s long-term efforts to modernize and expand fire and emergency response capacity for neighborhoods experiencing rapid residential and commercial development.
According to recently filed public documents, construction on the new Magnolia 182 Fire Station is scheduled to begin February 1, 2026, with an anticipated completion date of February 1, 2027. The project carries an estimated cost of $8.5 million and will be funded through public dollars allocated by ESD 10. The scope includes a full-service fire station equipped with vehicular parking, a detention pond, on-site water well, and septic system, supporting both operational needs and the site’s long-term functionality.
A Growing District and Evolving Service Needs
Montgomery County ESD 10, which oversees the Magnolia Fire Department, serves a broad and growing region that spans both incorporated and unincorporated portions of the county. Magnolia’s population increase over the past decade has placed additional demand on emergency response resources, prompting the district to pursue multi-year capital improvements, land acquisitions, and station replacements.
The Magnolia Fire Department’s current network of stations already provides coverage across the area, but FM 2978 has become one of the county’s most rapidly developing roadways. Increased traffic, new neighborhoods, and expanding commercial sites have heightened the need for modern facilities that support timely response times and adequate staffing.
