Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts Opens Registration for 2026 Summer Art Camps in Spring
Families across Spring and Northwest Harris County now have the opportunity to plan a summer filled with creativity, imagination, and artistic exploration as registration officially opens for the 2026 Summer Art Camps at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts.
Running from June 16 through July 31, the popular summer program offers six themed one-week sessions designed for children ages 5-8 and 9-13. With half-day and full-day options available, the camps provide local families with a creative outlet that blends hands-on learning, artistic confidence, and community connection during the summer months.
Hosted at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts in Spring, the camps have become a seasonal tradition for many families seeking educational and engaging activities beyond the classroom. Organizers say the experience is about more than creating artwork — it is about helping children discover new perspectives, build confidence, and express themselves in meaningful ways.
A Summer Designed Around Creativity and Discovery
The 2026 Summer Art Camps feature six unique weekly themes, each tailored to inspire imagination and exploration through art.
-
Week 1, held June 16-19, includes “Color World” for ages 5-8 and “Kinetic Canvas” for ages 9-13.
-
Week 2, June 23-26, features “Call of the Wild” for younger campers and “Animation Station” for older students.
-
Week 3, July 7-10, brings “Masterpiece Remix” to both age groups, encouraging campers to reinterpret famous artistic styles and techniques.
-
Week 4, July 14-17, includes “Under the Sea Adventure” for ages 5-8 and “Hyperrealism” for ages 9-13.
-
Week 5, July 21-24, explores “Exploring 3D Creativity” and “Graffiti Street Beats.”
The final session, July 28-31, concludes with “Passport to Adventure” for younger artists and “Splatter Studio” for older campers.
Camp sessions run Tuesday through Friday and are offered in morning sessions from 9 a.m. to noon, afternoon sessions from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., or full-day programs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Museum officials encourage families to register early, noting that spots traditionally fill quickly each summer.
More Than an Art Camp
For many parents, summer camps provide more than childcare or entertainment. Programs like those offered at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts can help children strengthen communication skills, build empathy, and gain confidence through creative expression.
According to the museum, children who are encouraged to engage in art often develop stronger problem-solving abilities and learn to see the world from different perspectives — skills that continue to benefit them long after summer ends.
Campers will also spend time exploring the museum’s galleries and the summer exhibition, “Chromatica: A World in Color.” The immersive exhibition experience is designed to inspire students as they return to their classrooms and studios to create original artwork influenced by the colors, textures, and artistic styles surrounding them.
The combination of gallery learning and hands-on projects gives students an opportunity to experience art not just as observers, but as creators.
A Museum Rooted in the Spring Community
The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts has long served as a cultural cornerstone for the Spring community.
Opened in 2008, the museum was created through a community-driven effort that transformed a former county library into a regional center for art and education. Since opening its doors, the museum has welcomed more than 200,000 visitors and hosted more than 50 exhibitions.
Today, the Pearl continues expanding its educational reach through partnerships with schools, restaurants, community centers, and satellite venues, helping bring art experiences to audiences throughout the region.
The museum’s story is closely connected to the legacy of Pearl Lilley Fincher, a longtime Spring resident remembered for her generosity, leadership, and commitment to serving others.
Born in Evergreen, Texas, in 1935, Fincher became known for her dedication to community involvement and charitable causes. Her belief that “To whom much is given, much is required” helped shape the spirit of the institution that now bears her name.
From supporting organizations like the American Heart Association to helping advance arts initiatives in the area, Fincher’s impact continues to influence the museum’s mission of making art, education, and imagination accessible to local families.
