Mayor Sylvester Turner to Welcome XFL Team Houston Roughnecks "Home" with Pep Rally at City Hall
On Friday, February 17, Houstonians are invited to join Mayor Sylvester Turner at City Hall where he will officially welcome the Houston Roughnecks "home" to Houston ahead of the team’s season opener vs. the Orlando Guardians scheduled for Saturday, February 18 at TDECU Stadium, the XFL’s first prime-time game of the season.
The Roughnecks are the only undefeated XFL team from the 2020 season and the pep rally will mark the team's first official public appearance.
Mayor Sylvester Turner will present Houstonian and legendary Head Coach Wade Phillips with a city-wide proclamation, and later that evening, City Hall will be lit up in the team's official colors, Houston Blue and Roughneck Red.
Houston’s-own Kiotti “Radio Boss” Brown will emcee the event, which includes a meet-and-greet with Roughnecks players and coaches, photo opportunities, special ticket and swag giveaways, music, and food trucks.
The pep rally will kick off at 12:30 PM. Everyone is encouraged to wear the team’s official colors to show their support.
