Klein Collins Tigers Advance in Playoffs with 37-27 Win Over Bridgeland
The Friday night lights shone extra bright for Klein Collins High School as the Tigers powered their way to a 37-27 victory over Bridgeland in the first round of the Texas high school football playoffs. Backed by a strong home crowd and donning sharp gold chrome helmets, the Tigers put together a thrilling all-around performance that sends them surging into the area round of the UIL postseason.
The Class 6A playoff matchup drew plenty of attention across the Klein and Bridgeland communities, with both teams entering the bracket with high expectations. In the end, it was the Tigers’ grit, versatility, and big-play firepower that helped them weather Bridgeland’s early surge and seal the win.
Bridgeland struck first with a 46-yard touchdown pass that gave the Bears a 7-0 lead midway through the opening quarter. But Klein Collins answered quickly — and emphatically.
Quarterback Braydon Schoggin connected with receiver Tyce Hudson to spark a field-flipping drive, and standout running back Randall Jackson punched in a 39-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game. That combination of explosive passes and downhill running became the theme of the night.

Schoggin later found Aiyden Benford to keep the momentum going, then used his legs for a long gain before hitting Micah Callens for a 26-yard touchdown pass to give Klein Collins a 14-7 lead late in the first quarter.
The Tigers’ defense got in on the action early in the second quarter when defensive back Makell Wilson intercepted a Bridgeland pass to halt a threatening drive. From there, the offense went to work again. After another deep ball to Hudson, Schoggin hit Brandon Behrens for a red zone touchdown, and kicker Samuel Galeas knocked through the extra point — one of five perfect kicks on the night — to give the Tigers a 21-7 halftime advantage.
Bridgeland didn’t go quietly. The Bears opened the third quarter with a rushing touchdown, trimming the lead to 21-14. But Klein Collins had the answer. With the offensive line dominating the trenches, Jackson and Schoggin orchestrated another march downfield. Jackson punched in his second rushing score to extend the lead to 28-14.
A seesaw fourth quarter followed, with Bridgeland cutting the margin to 30-27 after a 59-yard touchdown pass. But the Tigers delivered when it mattered most. On the drive of the game, Schoggin and Jackson traded long runs before Schoggin powered into the end zone on a 9-yard keeper to cap the night at 37-27.
