Killer Burger Expands to Austin’s East Village with New Parmer Lane Location Slated for Summer 2026
Killer Burger is officially carving out a place in Austin’s East Village, adding another locally anticipated dining option to the growing Parmer Lane corridor in North Austin. The fast-casual “better burger” brand is planning a new location at 3500 E Parmer Ln, Austin, TX 78754, in Travis County, with construction scheduled to begin in February 2026 and wrap up by July 2026.
The Austin restaurant will be built inside an existing building, with a 2,938-square-foot interior tenant build-out and an estimated renovation cost of $300,000. Once complete, the space will serve as Killer Burger’s East Village home, adding to the area’s expanding mix of restaurants, retail, and gathering spots.
A Growing Brand Finds Its Place in Austin
Founded in 2010 in Portland’s Hollywood District, Killer Burger began as a single, scrappy shop launched during the aftermath of the 2008 economic downturn. Founder Thomas “TJ” Southard envisioned a “food sanctuary”—a place where high-quality burgers, loud music, and an energetic atmosphere could coexist. That idea resonated, and the brand steadily built a following across Oregon, Washington, and beyond.
In recent years, Killer Burger has been expanding aggressively into Texas, with locations already open in San Antonio and additional restaurants planned for Austin, Houston, Manor, and New Braunfels. The Parmer Lane restaurant represents the brand’s first Austin location and a key step in its push into the Texas Triangle.

What Sets Killer Burger Apart
Killer Burger has built its reputation around a few non-negotiables. Every burger comes standard with bacon, made with 100% natural beef that is never frozen and seared to order. The menu is known for its unconventional combinations and bold flavors, most famously the Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon Burger, which blends sweet, salty, and tangy elements into a cult-favorite experience.
The brand also leans into a distinctly casual, rock-and-roll atmosphere. Local craft beers are typically on tap, music is part of the experience, and the setting is designed to feel equally welcoming for families, groups of friends, and anyone looking to unwind over a burger and fries.
A Menu Built for Variety
When the East Village location opens, Austinites can expect a menu anchored by signature burgers like the Bender, Jose Mendoza, Fun Guy, and Classic, alongside crispy chicken sandwiches, made-to-order fries, onion rings, and a lineup of house-made sauces. Customization options—such as lettuce wraps, veggie patties, and gluten-free buns—aim to make the menu approachable for a wide range of diners.
Killer Burger also offers a kids menu, shareable sides, and rotating craft beer and cider selections, reinforcing its goal of becoming a neighborhood-friendly spot rather than just a quick stop.

Part of East Village’s Continued Growth
East Village, located along East Parmer Lane, has become one of Austin’s fastest-developing areas, drawing new residents, employers, and businesses. The arrival of Killer Burger adds another casual dining option for nearby neighborhoods and workers, while reflecting the broader trend of national and regional brands investing in North Austin.
With construction set to begin in early 2026, the countdown is on for Killer Burger’s East Village debut. If the brand’s track record in other Texas cities is any indication, the Parmer Lane location is expected to quickly become a familiar stop for burger lovers looking for something a little louder, a little bolder, and rooted in community.
