Keep Katy Beautiful to Celebrate 2023 America Recycles Day

October 31 2023

On Saturday, November 4, Keep Katy Beautiful (KKB) will take part in America Recycles Day, a Keep America Beautiful national initiative dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. Each year, thousands of communities across the country participate by promoting environmental citizenship and taking action to increase and improve recycling in America. As the only nationally recognized day dedicated to this effort, America Recycles Day educates people about the importance of recycling to our economy and environmental well-being, and helps motivate occasional recyclers to become “everyday” recyclers. Take a pledge today to recycle more here

The Katy community is invited to bring their electronics for recycling and paper for shredding at this year's free America Recycles Day hosted by Keep Katy Beautiful on Saturday, November 4 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Katy's First Baptist Church, located at 600 Pin Oak Road. KKB will also be collecting metal scraps and appliances such as refrigerators and microwaves. Have outdated prescription or regular glasses, sunglasses and eyewear that you would like to get rid of? Bring them with you to donate to the Katy Lions Club! Help KKB keep these items out of the landfill while beautifying Katy and supporting our neighbors.
