Katy ISD Board of Trustees to Hold Regular Meeting on September 23
The Katy ISD Board of Trustees will hold a Regular Board Meeting on Monday, September 23, 2024. The meeting will take place in the Board Room of the Katy ISD Education Support Complex, located at 6301 South Stadium Lane, Katy, Texas 77494. The Open Meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m.
For those unable to attend in person, a free livestream service will be provided, allowing the public to view the meeting online at Katy ISD Board Meeting Livestream. The complete agenda documents will be accessible on the day of the meeting via BoardDocs.com.
During Katy ISD Board of Trustees meetings, the public has an opportunity to speak, but intentions must be filed in advance. To participate in the Public Comment/Citizen Participation segment of this meeting, individuals must sign up by sending an email to publicrecords@katyisd.org by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024. Attendees who successfully sign up and arrive 15 minutes before the meeting will have the opportunity to address the Board.

The meeting agenda includes recognitions for the Seven Lakes High School Boys 6A State Tennis Champion and the Academic Decathlon Team UIL State Champion. A closed meeting will address consultations with the board's attorney and discuss the potential sale of real property, followed by reconvening to approve resolutions regarding surplus property. Reports will include the Katy ISD Education Foundation's annual report and an academic presentation on the Miller Career Technology Center. The consent agenda will feature multiple approvals related to school expansions, contracts, easements, financial reports, and performance objectives. Discussion items will include board nominations for the Harris Central Appraisal District and adoption of tax rates. The agenda also notes future meetings and a Level Three grievance discussion, with further reconvening for related decisions.
To successfully engage in the Public Comment/Citizen Participation part of the meeting, remember to sign up via email and arrive early. The next Regular Board Meeting is scheduled for October 28, 2024, and a Board Work Study Meeting is planned for October 21, 2024.
