Katy ISD Board of Trustees to Hold Regular Meeting on October 28
The Katy ISD Board of Trustees will hold a Regular Board Meeting on Monday, October 28, 2024. The meeting will take place in the Board Room of the Katy ISD Education Support Complex, located at 6301 South Stadium Lane, Katy, Texas 77494. The Open Meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m.
For those unable to attend in person, a free livestream service will be provided, allowing the public to view the meeting online at Katy ISD Board Meeting Livestream. The complete agenda documents will be accessible on the day of the meeting via BoardDocs.com.
During Katy ISD Board of Trustees meetings, the public has an opportunity to speak, but intentions must be filed in advance. To participate in the Public Comment/Citizen Participation segment of this meeting, individuals must sign up by sending an email to publicrecords@katyisd.org by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024. Attendees who successfully sign up and arrive 15 minutes before the meeting will have the opportunity to address the Board.

The meeting agenda includes key topics such as a report on the journey to graduation for emergent bilingual students, an update on the Class 1:1 Initiative, and progress on the district's strategic plan. Additionally, a public hearing will be held to discuss the district's rating on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST), allowing for public input. The agenda will also feature several consent items, such as the approval of legislative priorities for the 2024-2025 school year, boundary modifications for two new elementary schools, and various budget amendments. Further approvals will address critical infrastructure projects, including security fencing, renovations at Bear Creek and Katy High Schools, and essential upgrades at multiple campuses.
