Katy Christian Ministries Raises Awareness Around Domestic Violence with Silent Witness Community Event
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) will host an evening of reflection and remembrance at “Silent Witness: A Night to Remember the Lives of Those Lost to Domestic Violence” on Thursday, October 26th, at 6:00 pm. The event will be held at Westland Baptist Church, located at 1407 W. Grand Parkway South, Katy, TX 77494.
The Silent Witness project is a free event that will showcase a traveling exhibit of life-sized, red wooden silhouettes. These poignant silhouettes symbolize women, men, and children who tragically lost their lives at the hands of intimate partners or family members. KCM's mission is to raise awareness about the profound impact of domestic homicides and family violence within our community. In memory of those who can no longer speak, KCM refers to these silhouettes as the Silent Witnesses. This year, KCM will auction a live painting by our very own Domestic Violence Client Advocate and Artist, Maria Ines Chavarria, to go towards KCM's fundraising target of $4,000.00. If you would like to donate, please go to https://ktcm.org/donate and under Monetary Donations “Give online today”, please identify you would like your donation to go towards Domestic Violence (Crisis Center) or Sexual Assault (Crisis Center). If you want your donation to go specifically to this event, please put “Silent Witness” in the comment box.
Your involvement is instrumental in promoting peace and safety within our community. To confirm your attendance, kindly RSVP at www.ktcm.org/silentwitness or by the QR Code on the attached invitation by October 20.
