Johnny Nelson Katy Heritage Museum to Celebrate 5th Anniversary of Reopening, Rededication
The Johnny Nelson Katy Heritage Museum is celebrating the 5th anniversary of its reopening and rededication on Saturday, May 13th, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend the festivities, which will include a proclamation from City of Katy Mayor Dusty Thiele, the unveiling of a native plant garden, and "Touch-a-Truck," a display of vehicles from the police, fire, and infrastructure agencies that help keep our city safe and functioning. Light refreshments will be available.
Join the community on May 13, 2023, and experience the reality of the dream of John L. "Johnny" Nelson to preserve Katy's heritage as a rice farming community. There are many historical items/displays, equipment, documents, and photographs to be shared and enjoyed.
The Johnny Nelson Katy Heritage Museum is open Thursday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. Admission is free.
