ImagineNation Kid Expo Brings Laser Tag, LEGO Builds, Characters and Family Fun to New Braunfels This Weekend

San Antonio / New Braunfels  /  San Antonio / New Braunfels
July 06 2026

For families in New Braunfels and San Antonio trying to make the most of summer before the school-year countdown begins, ImagineNation Kid Expo is bringing two full days of indoor, hands-on fun to the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center this weekend.

The family-friendly event takes place Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at 375 S Castell Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130. General admission starts at $10, and tickets are good all day both days of the event with wristband and email confirmation.

For parents, grandparents and caregivers, the appeal is simple: one stop, lots to do, and something for nearly every age and interest. From laser tag and black light mini golf to LEGO building, character photos, bounce houses, STEM activities, shopping and themed treats, ImagineNation Kid Expo is designed as a weekend outing where kids can move, build, play, learn and meet some of the characters they love.

What Families Can Expect at ImagineNation Kid Expo

ImagineNation Expo is promoted as a premier kids expo featuring interactive activities, local vendors, character experiences and family-friendly entertainment. In New Braunfels, the event is expected to include a mix of active play, creative stations, photo opportunities, hands-on learning and shopping for families who enjoy toys, collectibles and pop culture.

Activities include laser tag, mini golf, bounce houses, face painting, bead making, a slime bar, giant games, RC monster trucks, LEGO building areas and photo opportunities with characters. Organizers note that activities may vary by location, and some premium experiences or stations may require an additional charge.

For families in New Braunfels, San Antonio and the surrounding Hill Country area, the expo offers an easy indoor outing during the heat of summer, with enough hands-on activities, character experiences, games and vendor booths to make it feel like a full weekend adventure without having to plan multiple stops.

LEGO Builds, STEM Activities and Hands-On Creativity

One of the main draws for young builders will be the LEGO-centered activities. Children can take part in freestyle building, make brick creations at a build station and add their own design to a LEGO graffiti wall.

The expo also includes a brick build contest, giving kids a chance to bring their best creativity and compete for recognition. For children who like to invent, stack, design and problem-solve, the build areas give them room to do more than watch; they get to make something.

The event also highlights hands-on learning through robotics and coding activities with Skill Samurai, along with 3D printing demonstrations where families can watch designs come to life. Visitors can browse 3D-printed items available for purchase while seeing how the technology works in real time.

Characters, Princesses, Superheroes and Photo Ops

For many kids, the photo opportunities may be the moment they remember most.

ImagineNation Kid Expo is expected to feature character photo ops with TV show and video game characters, superheroes and princesses. New Braunfels-specific features include visits with Heroes & More and Royal Tales Events, along with Star Wars costuming and lightsaber choreography from Jakku Temple – Saber Guild.

The character experiences are designed to let children step into the worlds they usually see on screens, in books or in games. Families can take photos, meet heroes, enjoy princess-themed moments and look for interactive entertainment throughout the event.

Organizers have also listed other meet-and-greet features across ImagineNation Expo locations, including C Comics Bronze Age Batgirl Karen Whitfield in Katy and New Braunfels. Some listed attractions, such as Combo Panda, Elemon’s Lab Assistant Neon and Aquro, Yellow Rose Ghostbusters, and other booth features, are location-specific, so families should check current event details before arriving.

Active Play: Laser Tag, Mini Golf, Bounce Houses and Games

ImagineNation Kid Expo is not just for kids who like to build and craft. It also includes plenty of active play.

Families can expect attractions such as laser tag, black light mini golf, bounce houses, giant games and, depending on final event setup, interactive experiences such as an escape room maze. These activities give kids a way to burn energy while parents can explore vendor booths, grab snacks or move through the event at their own pace.

For younger children, the expo also includes toddler-friendly creative fun, including a coloring station where little ones can slow down and make something of their own.

Arts, Crafts and Kid-Friendly Experiences

The event also leans into classic kid-favorite activities, including face painting, balloon art, bead making and craft stations. Families may also find superhero capes and masks, fairy hair and other dress-up options, with some activities requiring an additional fee.

The DIY slime station is another expected favorite, giving children a chance to dive into the colorful, hands-on world of slime-making. Other specialty activities include cookie decorating with Plum Krazy Creations, marked by organizers as an additional-charge experience.

Sandra V Bath & Body is also listed among interactive offerings, with guests able to make their own blend of natural skincare products for an additional charge.

Shopping, Collectibles and Local Vendors

For parents and collectors, the shopping side of ImagineNation Kid Expo may be just as much fun as the kids’ activities.

Vendors are expected to offer vintage toys, comics, Funko Pops, 3D prints, artwork, LEGO accessories and sets, action figures, plush items, crochet crafts, children’s boutique items and pop culture finds. The event also creates space for LEGO fans and collectors to browse rare finds, newer sets and accessories, with opportunities to buy, sell or trade with other enthusiasts.

The pop culture shopping experience is expected to include comics, posters, action figures and collectibles tied to superheroes, sci-fi, gaming and nostalgic favorites.

Food, Sweet Treats and Weekend Extras

Families are encouraged to come hungry, with local vendors expected to offer themed sweets, treats and drinks. The event promotes a “come hungry, leave happy” approach, with food and dessert options intended to add to the playful, family-focused atmosphere.

A gaming station is also planned, giving kids a chance to explore virtual worlds and interactive entertainment. Between the games, food, vendors and activity zones, families can make the visit as short or as full as they want.

VIP Experience and Ticket Details

General admission tickets start at $10 and include re-entry all weekend with a wristband and email confirmation. Tickets are good all day both days of the event. Discounted family bundles are available online only.

Children 2 and under are free with general admission. Parents and children 2 and under only need general admission unless they choose to purchase VIP for gifts or upgraded perks.

The VIP Experience includes a Funko Pop of choice or a character brick build station, priority room experience with character photo ops, ImagineNation swag, an enamel pin, VIP lanyard, drawstring backpack, souvenir sticker, designated VIP entrance and an exclusive VIP activity.

Event Details for New Braunfels Families

ImagineNation Kid Expo will be held Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center, located at 375 S. Castell Ave., New Braunfels, TX 78130.

Admission starts at $10 for the weekend, with online family bundles and VIP options available. Families planning to attend should review ticket details, activity notes and any additional-charge experiences before heading out.

For New Braunfels residents, this weekend’s expo offers more than a way to keep kids busy. It is a local gathering point for imagination, play, family time and small-business shopping — the kind of summer outing that lets children explore a little bit of everything while parents enjoy seeing the community come together around something made for families.
