Houston Texans Kids Triathlon Returns to Typhoon Texas for 11th Year
Get ready to dive into action! The Houston Texans Kids Triathlon, the world's largest kids' triathlon, is back for the 11th year! This exciting event, presented by Texas Children's Hospital, is set to take place at the Typhoon Texas Waterpark in Katy. It's all about swimming, biking, running and, most importantly, having fun.
Participants of all skill levels and abilities are invited to compete in a host of events designed to offer a fun and thrilling experience. Produced by Negative Split Productions, the race includes short and long course triathlons, a splash & dash, and a paratriathlon. This years' edition also introduces an adaptive splash & dash and assisted options for both the triathlon and splash & dash, making this sporting event even more inclusive.
In addition to the Houston Texans, Texas Children's Hospital and Typhoon Texas Waterpark, key partners for this event include Chevron, Kroger, and The YMCA. The mission of the Houston Texans Kids Triathlon is to introduce multi-sport and triathlon to young athletes in an engaging and enjoyable setting.
Saturday's races, scheduled for April 13, 2024, at 7:00AM CDT include the Short Course, Long Course, Splash & Dash, and the Invitational. Sunday's races scheduled for April 14, 2024, at 7:00AM CDT include the Short Course, Long Course, Paratriathlon, Assisted Triathlon, Adaptive Splash & Dash, and Assisted Splash & Dash. Entries to each of these events range from $90 - $100.
For those who can't make it to the event in person, the Virtual Triathlon has been introduced, priced at $60, and it is open to ages 17 and under.
The waterpark will open for public admission once the event concludes, and participants can look forward to a day of watery adventures with their race entry including one ticket to Typhoon Texas. Additional tickets for family and friends can be purchased either during race registration or at the ticket office on the day of the event. Season ticket holders can also make use of their passes if purchased prior to the event.
